S&M Triumph Le Mans replica bodyLovely exampleFully refurbishedThe 1965 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans saw a battle of the ages running between Ford and Ferrari, but further down the field there were equally hard-fought dogfights between teams running far less powerful cars. The specially prepared Triumph Spitfires with their aerodynamic bodywork and comprehensively modified engines were set to battle in one of the smallest classes at Le Mans – the GT 1.15 class. Whereas the Ford GT40s were fitted with monstrous seven litre V8s, the Triumphs were powered by 1147cc inline four-cylinder engines with overhead valves. The primary opponent of the Spitfires would be the French team running a series of highly-competitive Alpine A110s. As is often the case with endurance racing, reliability problems began to take their toll as the race went on, all six Alpines fell by the wayside leaving a clean run to the chequered flag for a class win for the Brits. Two of the four Spitfire wouldn’t make it, the two survivors took first and second in class – 13th and 14th overall.First registered on 1st August 1964, this lovely Mk. I Spitfire has been uprated with the accurate S&M Triumph T6 Le Mans replica body. The body, bonnet, floor plan and doors are all fibreglass and painted in the Racing Green of the original four Le Mans entries, making this a faithful recreation of those 1965 Le Mans cars. The car is fitted with a steel rollbar and a twin weber shod 1300cc engine, along with faithful Compomotive Jigsaw 5.5 inch by 13 inch Le Mans replica alloy wheels. Reported to run and drive very well, this lovely replica is built as a tribute to the successful original cars. The car was built with road use in mind sporting comfortable leather reclining seats and more supple suspension. With neither the wheels or bodykit available anymore, these faithful Spitfire conversions are becoming a rare find.Supplied with its V5 registration document, MoT test certificate valid though until March 2026, receipts and relevant literature. Perfect as is or as a base for a FIA replica race car, either way this pretty Spitfire is sure to delight. With its 1950 Plus 4, Morgan moved upmarket in size, weight, power and price. The British manufacturer realised it might lose some potential customers but was happy to live with the situation for a while. By mid-decade though, the Plus 4 had become more potent and Morgan felt it should, again, field a lower-power car. This explains the revival of the Morgan 4/4 though it was completely different from the car that carried that title during 1935-1950. In fact, the new 4/4 was closely related to the Plus 4. The main difference was engines, purchased from Ford instead of Triumph. The re-born 4/4 began production in 1956 and ran all the way through until 2018. Like other Morgans, it always had the same chassis design, body construction and styling, a kind of technological time warp that customers keep coming back for. Morgan built old-fashioned cars the old-fashioned way and vehicles of that nature just won't be hurried. This handsome 1600cc 4/4 was first registered on 1st May 1980 and is presented with cream coachwork which has recently been repainted and a contrasting black hood and trim. This example is offered with V5C registration document and an invoice for the recent repaint and five tyres. We are informed the underside has recently been treated to preserve it for future years. The four seat configuration of these Morgans makes this a very practical example with the additional wet weather gear perfect for those summer drives to members club meets or touring the great British countryside. The 1970 Triumph Bonneville T120 was not only the high-water mark in the Triumph 650 development, but also the year that most people favour as 'the best Triumph Bonneville ever built' and certainly one of the prettiest. They ran well, were fast and handled well to boot. It carried a 650cc parallel-twin engine between 1959 and 1974 and was based on the company's Triumph Tiger T110. Initially it was produced with a pre-unit construction engine which enabled the bike to comfortably achieve 115mph without further modification, but later in 1963 a unit construction model was introduced which was stiffer and more compact including additional bracing at the steering head and swing arm. This handsome Triumph was repatriated from the U.S. in 2016. A thorough restoration was then carried out by the fastidious and knowledgeable vendor over the next three years. The bike was completely stripped, the frame was bead-blasted and powder coated along with all the ancillary components. The fuel tank, mudguards and side panels were professionally resprayed. The wheels were rebuilt by a specialist, with new rims, spokes and tyres. The engine and gearbox were overhauled, although minimal signs of wear were detected. A new wiring loom was fitted along with new carburettors, exhaust system, seat, battery and rear light. To assist reliability electronic ignition was added at the same time. Supplied with a V5 document along with the invoices confirming the restoration. The net result of all of this work is a Bonneville T120R that presents in fabulous condition. The Triumph TR3 was built between 1955 and 1957 and was powered by a 1991cc engine which initially produced 95bhp increasing to 100bhp at 5000rpm. The four-speed manual transmission could be supplemented by an overdrive unit on the top three ratios electrically operated and controlled by a switch on the dashboard. In 1956, the front brakes changed from drum to disc becoming the first British series production car to be so fitted. Because of these disc brakes, the TR3 and subsequent TR3A's became known for their superior braking ability making it an autocross favourite. In 1957, the TR3 was replaced by an updated version, the TR3A, which included new wide front grille, exterior door handles, lockable boot handle and came with a full toolkit as standard, although the TR3A's still retained the 1991cc engine. This very special 1957 TR3 Sports car has benefitted from some high-end driver focused upgrades. Originating from the US, this vehicle has had some serious works to the suspension, brakes, steering and is fitted with a very slick five-speed gearbox. The items that usually disappoint in a TR3 have been addressed and be prepared for a car that accelerates, steers and brakes like a car of far more modern times. Visually the car looks gorgeous in Pale Primrose, complemented by the Saddle Tan leather interior, edged Caramel carpets, black vinyl hood and the wooden steering wheel. In May 2019, new front brake discs and pads were fitted along with brake hoses and caliper seal repair kits. It was also fitted with a Delphi remote vacuum brake servo. There are many invoices for servicing, parts and maintenance since arriving in UK which can be found in the history file and a recent oil and filter service has just been carried out. Recently the carbs have been rebuilt with a professional engine set up and specialist tune up at an approximate cost of circa £1,000 added to which a new radiator has also been fitted. This TR3 looks fantastic and drives extremely well with the owner saying ‘be prepared for its surprisingly good acceleration’. The perfect British classic sports car. Consigned by James Good. Desirable ‘CP’ 150bhp modelConcours winning carFrame off nut and bolt restorationThe Triumph TR6 was manufactured for seven years from 1969 and by the time production came to an end in July 1976, it was the best-seller of the TR range. The bodywork closely resembled that of the previous model, the Triumph TR5, but the front and rear were squared off and all TR6s featured inline six-cylinder engines. For the US market, the engine was fitted with carburettors whilst, for other world markets including the UK, the TR6 was fitted with fuel-injection. It featured a four-speed manual gearbox, independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering, 15" wheels and tyres, pile carpet on the floors and boot, bucket seats and a full complement of instruments. In total 94,619 TR6’s were built of which 86,249 were sold overseas and only 8,370 were sold in the UK.First registered on 5th February 1971, this desirable ‘CP’ 150bhp is a UK supplied home market car boasting the sought after overdrive gearbox. The car was subject to a ‘frame off’ restoration completed in 2016. Stripped down to the bare metal, the supplied photo books show the meticulous attention given to the car throughout the restoration. Presenting beautifully in Yasmin Yellow, the paintwork is impressive having been carried out by the well renowned Yorkshire based Malton Coachworks. The rest of the work was carried out by similarly well renowned companies such as TRGB who rebuilt the engine to Stage 2 specification, all running through a full stainless steel exhaust system. A new mohair hood has been fitted complimenting the excellent interior. Owned by the vendor since 2016 the car has been cherished by him and has several trophies from concours events including a 1st place win in 2018.Supplied with its V5 registration document, substantial history file, photo record of restoration and previous MoT test certificates dating back to 1987 as well as a current MoT test certificate valid until November 2025. This is an impressive example of a British classic. Good condition TR6’s are difficult to come across and this one stands a step above the rest. • Three owners from new• Fully restored and featuring TR5 engineThe Triumph TR6 was manufactured for seven years from 1969 and by the time production came to an end in July 1976, it was the best-seller of the TR range. The bodywork closely resembled that of the previous model, the Triumph TR5, but the front and rear were squared off and all TR6s featured inline six-cylinder engines. In total 94,619 TR6’s were built of which 86,249 were sold overseas and only 8,370 were sold in the UK.This lovely example of a UK right hand drive home market TR6 with factory overdrive is presented in Triumph Royal Blue with a contrasting red leather trim and red soft top. Our vendor has owned the car since 2002 having purchased it from the second owner, he then had the car restored in 2009. Upon purchasing, the previous owner informed our vendor that he used to have a TR5 and a TR6 but had written off the TR5, he decided to keep the engine from the TR5 as it performed so well and put it in the TR6. The TR5 engine (CP908E) remains in 901 DPH today and has covered just 22,071 miles since restoration. Recent works include an overdrive and gearbox rebuild in 2023 and the car in our vendors 23 years ownership has always been garaged.Unsurprisingly, being only a three-owner car, there is a very good history file including Heritage Certificate which alludes to the number 901 DPH having been with the car from new, it also shows the car was originally Saffron Yellow before our vendor decided to change the colour during the restoration to a striking Triumph Royal Blue with red combination. Our vendor states it is absolute joy to drive with the overdrive performing as it should but due to a property purchase the car needs to find a new home. Low ownership, fully restored with the desirable TR5 engine combined with overdrive gearbox, this handsome TR6 would be a joy to own this summer and for many to come. • Restored example• Impressive history fileThe 1966 Triumph TR4A is a quintessential British sportscar, blending classic design with innovative engineering. Introduced as an evolution of the TR4, it featured a refined chassis and optional independent rear suspension (IRS), enhancing handling and ride quality. Powered by a 2.1 litre inline-four engine producing 104 horsepower, it offered spirited performance for its era. Its Michelotti-designed body showcased clean lines, a distinctive grille and elegant details. The TR4A’s convertible design, complete with a practical Surrey Top option, made it versatile for open-top motoring. Revered for its blend of charm, performance and affordability, the TR4A remains a classic icon in motoring history. This delightful TR4A was registered on 7th March 1966 and presents extremely well in its original colour combination of New White with a contrasting black leather interior which is detailed in the Heritage Certificate. The look of this classic British sportscar is enhanced with a Surrey Top and ever popular wire wheels. This handsome example also benefits from the desirable options of a heater, overdrive and independent rear suspension. This restored example is one of the nicest we have seen and is offered to auction with a comprehensive file of bills and receipts, early MoT test certificates, a British Motor Industry Heritage Certificate, a buff logbook and a current V5C registration document. Given its outstanding quality, good specification and reasonable estimate, this TR4 surely deserves consideration. Consigned by Dominic Lake.RECENT RESTORATIONGOOD SPECIFICATION

Superb condition throughoutRare example being just one of 12 in existence The story of the Dolomite starts in 1936 when, facing bankruptcy, Triumph launched a new range of models headed by the Dolomite, powered by a brand new, all alloy overhead valve 1767cc engine with crossflow cylinder heads designed by Donald Healey. The cars featured the famous waterfall grille by Walter Belgrove and on the roadster models, a fold out rear ‘dicky’ seat. This rare Triumph Dolomite Roadster 14/65 is finished in gleaming red with beige hide interior. This example is one of just 12 examples in existence, only half of which are road going! The first owner of this example is not known however, we do know the car has had just four owners from new, the second owner purchased the car in 1951/2 from Chequered Garage in Chiswick, London and he sold the car in 1964. The car remained in the same family, passing from father to son until 2019 and it has had owner since then. This is a particularly fine example with matching chassis and engine numbers and it is presented in outstanding condition throughout with excellent body and paintwork, perfect carpets and leather, with the car running and driving beautifully. It comes with a nice history which includes a handbook, an invoice from Pilkington for the windscreen, photocopy of a book showing this car, a handwritten history of this car, workshop manual and a V5 registration document. A scarce opportunity to acquire one of the rarest British open top sportscars ever made. Launched in 1970, the Triumph Stag was a luxury grand tourer. Envisioned as a luxury sports car, it was designed to compete directly with the Mercedes-Benz SL class models. All Stags were four-seater convertible coupés but for structural rigidity and to meet new American rollover standards at the time, the Stag required a B-pillar 'roll bar' hoop connected to the windscreen frame by a T-bar. A new 2.5 litre, V8 designed and developed by Triumph's Harry Webster was later enlarged to 2,997cc. Most Stags were fitted with a Borg Warner automatic gearbox although manual gearboxes with overdrive were available. Electric windows, power steering and power-assisted brakes were fitted as standard. This very nice example is presented in white with a new black hood and black interior. Its evocative sounding V8 engine is mated to an automatic gearbox and the history file contains old MoT test certificates, various receipts and old valuation certificates. The paintwork is in good condition as too is the interior. Although the odometer reading is 27,122 this cannot be verified. A true British classic sports car and with spring fast approaching, there is nothing better than taking the hood down and listening to that V8 on song! Uprated twin 45 Dellorto carburettorsUprated twin stainless steel exhaustThe best-seller of the Triumph range, the TR6 was certainly considered the highest performer of all the models to date. Presented in a highly presentable condition following and extensive restoration over a number of years, including the front wings, boot lid and sills. It has been fully resprayed in Royal blue, although there is some very minor bubbling now upon close inspection. The brightwork is in generally good order and the underside also appears sound, especially the chassis and floor pan, as indeed described by ‘Classic Assessments’ some years ago. The black interior is in good condition throughout with fairly new door trims and carpets. The side panels are all sound with the dashboard itself having been revarnished well. An aftermarket Mountney wood-rimmed steering wheel and inertia reel seatbelts have been fitted and the double-duck soft top and re-worked frame are in good order although the soft top windows require some attention. The mechanics appear to be in good working order having all undergone a variety of remedial work at some time with many components renewed including the engine mounts, coolant hoses and fuel pipes. The fuel-injection system has been replaced with triple 45 Dellorto carburettors combined with a pair of pan air-filters. The exhaust system is also non-standard and has also been upgraded to stainless steel. The power output has been increased to an estimated 165bhp which can be easily handled by the 2.5 litre, six-cylinder engine and it now also runs on unleaded fuel, all connected to a four-speed gearbox and optional overdrive unit, all reported to work well. Additionally, there are chrome wire wheels fitted all round with good quality tyres on each corner making for a highly presentable classic overall, connected to a strong engine and all pointing to a high performance example. A madagascar "Merina" panelMerina figurative bas-relief bed panels, as exemplified by the two pieces known in the Barnes collection. The iconography and function of the few published carved wooden bed panels are unknown, other than that they were made for the Merina people in the central highlands of Madagascar"The Merina bedstead consisted of lateral planks fastened to legs. As an elevated furnishing that indicated authority, the bed was historically restricted to elders, nobles, rulers, and royals. A bed's height was commensurate with the owner's status, the sovereign's being placed some 20 feet high. The Merina bed was further placed in the sacred northeast corner of a person's house, together with ritual items. Rather, the practice appears to have flowered in conjunction with the intensive international trade and diplomacy undertaken by Merina King Radama I (r. 1810–1828), particularly trade with Europe, and its associated radical changes in dress, architecture, and home furnishings."cf.181 cmLiteraturecf.
