One owner from newExtremely good conditionOnly a mere 34,074 miles from new As one of the most durable and capable 4x4s ever produced, the Land Rover Discovery has completely stood the test of time. On any given day you’re likely to see one out and about as there are so many still going strong on the road today. Effortlessly combining incredible off-road capabilities with luxury level spec, supreme comfort and practicality for all the family to enjoy, it’s no wonder they’ve notoriously been the number one choice for landowners and farmers. As a one owner car from new, this fabulous example is presented in Niagra Grey and was used on rare and family occasions only and not seen rough ground since the day it was purchased at Mann Egerton (Land Rover dealer) in April 1996. The incredible condition should really be seen in the flesh, with its fantastic bodywork and an interior that has held up so well in grey leather. It’s in totally original condition, (unrestored) and is powered by the superb 4.0 litre V8 engine mated to a manual gearbox. The original service book confirms the ownership as does the original V5C and current up to date V5C. The service book confirms the VIN, engine number and of course the record of the servicing. Despite the super low mileage, it’s been looked after with eight services stamped in the book all of which carried out by Land Rover dealers and specialists exclusively. This 4X4 is absolutely fantastic and with its delightful V8 providing the power, it’s a superb utility vehicle with comfort to match. This surely must be the finest available of this model in the UK. • Recent full engine rebuild• Extensive history file and expenditure• One of 220 Giallo Ginestra examplesThe Lancia Delta was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1979 and is best known for its domination of the World Rally Championship in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Constantly being developed, the first 'Evolution' cars were built at the end of 1991 and carried on through 1992; these models were the final homologation cars built for the Lancia Rally Team competing under the Martini Racing banner. In June 1993, the second 'Evolution' version of the Delta HF Integrale featured an updated version of the two litre, 16 valve turbo engine to produce more power and torque, now developing 215 PS (against 210 PS on the earlier un-catalytic version). The 1993 Integrale received a cosmetic and functional facelift that included 16" light alloy rims with 205/45 ZR 16 tyres, bodycolour roof moulding to underline the connection between the roof and the solar tinted windows, aluminium fuel cap and air-intake grilles on the front mudguards, red colour coded cam cover, leather-covered three-spoke Momo steering wheel and Recaro seats upholstered in tan Alcantara with diagonal stitching. With these upgrades, the Evo II Integrale is considered by many as the most desirable version to own. This striking 1994 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evolution II is a stunning example of the iconic rally derived homologation special in the coveted limited edition Giallo Ginestra Yellow of which only 220 were produced. Supplied new in Germany and first registered in Hamburg on 31st August 1994 where the car spent three years before coming to the UK and being registered on 3rd September 1997. If ever there's a car where yellow works better than any other it’s the Lancia Delta Integrale and in Giallo Ginestra, it is one of the rarest Evolutions produced. Under the bonnet sits a 2.0 litre turbocharged 16 valve in-line four-cylinder engine producing an impressive 219bhp sent to all four wheels via a five-speed manual transmission, thanks to the new ECU and the Garett T3 turbo on the Evo II which translates into a 0-60mph in 5.7 seconds.Inside you find dark grey Alcantara trim with yellow stitching, Recaro front sports seats, new black carpets and HF over mats, Momo Corse steering wheel, air conditioning, and it has a new set of 17" Evolution Speedline Corse magnesium alloy wheels in Anthracite with new Pirelli P-Zero tyres. The car has had seven previous keepers from new with our vendor having purchased the car in July 2018. It boasts an impressive and full marque specialist maintenance history with 17 stamps in the service/maintenance book, five in Germany and nine by Lancia dealer Walkers Garage Ltd in Northallerton, North Yorkshire and four by Auto Integrale Ltd in Reading. There is a lot of expenditure on the car from 2003 to 2018 amounting to £18,850 and upon purchasing the car in September 2018, the current owner had Walkers Garage carry out a full assessment of the car and as a result of their recommendations he spent a further £16,162 with works amounting to 189 ¼ hours in total, including a full engine rebuild plus many other new components. In addition to these works, some paintwork rectification was carried out by a specialist body shop totalling £2,000, re-trimming of the front seats by a specialist trimmer at £1,800, all amounting to £20,662 and a total spend on the car of £39,512 since 2003.The car comes with is original handbook pack including maintenance book and owner’s manual, two books on Lancia Delta Integrale’ s including Peter Collins hardback book, HPi check and certificate, MoT history and test certificates, all invoices for works and servicing carried out. It has now covered a genuine 81,928 miles (131,850 kilometres) from new, but only 464 miles since the engine rebuild by Walkers Garage Ltd, a few more miles will be undertaken prior to the auction but it is advised that further running in is completed before you take on any rally stages. A fabulous and rare car that needs no introduction, the Lancia Delta Integrale is just a truly great classic, and one to keep in your garage! Viewing is highly recommended. • One of 149 right hand drive examples• Ferrari Classiche certified• Highly original and matching numbers example One of the most talked about releases at 1968 Paris Motor Show was Ferrari's brand new Berlinetta. It was expected to be called Daytona to celebrate Ferrari's 1-2-3 finish in the 1967 Daytona 24 Hours race. At the launch however the press was proven wrong as it was just dubbed 365 GTB/4 but the name stuck and to this day it is still referred to as the 'Daytona'. Ironically, it was intended to be called Daytona - but when the name leaked out prematurely Ferrari reverted to using the traditional system. Pininfarina's Leonardo Fioravanti, later the famed Carrozzeria' director of research and development, was responsible for the influential shark-nosed styling, creating a package that reinstated the traditional 'long bonnet, small cabin, short tail' look in a manner suggesting muscular horsepower while retaining all the elegance associated with the Italian coachbuilder's work for Maranello. One of Pininfarina's countless masterpieces, the influential shark-nosed body style featured an unusual full-width transparent panel covering the headlamps, though this was replaced by electrically operated pop-up lights to meet US requirements soon after the start of production in the second half of 1969. Fioravanti later revealed that the Daytona was his favourite among the many Ferraris he designed. The engine was based on the 330 unit and featured double overhead camshafts, first seen on a production Ferrari only two years earlier. The oval tube ladder type frame was as traditional as the engine layout. Although the prototype had been styled and built by Pininfarina in Turin, manufacture of the production version was entrusted to Ferrari's subsidiary Scaglietti in Modena. The Daytona's all-alloy, four-cam, V12 engine displaced 4,390cc and produced its maximum output of 352bhp at 7,500rpm, with 318lb/ft of torque available at 5,500 revs. Dry-sump lubrication enabled it to be installed low in the oval-tube frame, while shifting the gearbox to the rear, in the form of a five-speed transaxle, meant 50/50 weight distribution could be achieved. The all-independent wishbone and coil-spring suspension was a recent development, having originated in the preceding 275 GTB. Unlike the contemporary 365 GTC/4, the Daytona was not available with power steering, a feature then deemed inappropriate for a 'real' sportscar. There was, however, servo assistance for the four-wheel ventilated disc brakes.Air conditioning was optional, but elsewhere the Daytona remained uncompromisingly focussed on delivering nothing less than superlative high performance. In 1968 the Daytona was the most expensive production Ferrari ever and, with a top speed in excess of 170mph, was also the world's fastest production car. The Daytona would be manufactured for just four years and not until the arrival of the 456 GT in 1992 would Ferrari build anything like it again. Only 1,300 Berlinetta models and 121 Spyder convertibles had been made when production ceased in 1973.One of only 149 Daytona’s manufactured in right hand drive configuration, chassis number '15381' was ordered from Maranello Concessionaires in January 1972 by Callanders Garage of Glasgow for Mr. Alistair Stewart. The car was delivered complete with toolkit, air conditioning and Voxson Sonar stereo radio/cassette with electric antenna. It was finished in Blu Chiaro Metallizzato with beige Connolly leather interior trim and one of only six UK cars finished in this elegant colour combination. Completed in March 1972 and dispatched from Maranello to the UK, Mr. Stewart took delivery on 25th April 1972 and the Ferrari was first registered as 'KHS 12K'. Additional items supplied and fitted by Maranello Concessionaires included extra side lights, a 'Prancing Horse' on the boot lid, a nose bar, and Lucas spot lamps. Mr. Stewart owned the car for a couple of years before selling it to Mr. Sandford, a Surrey-based motor dealer and owner of Roy Salvadori's former business, Elmbridge Motors. The Ferrari was then offered for sale without success, it was also painted red in an effort to find a buyer, however Mike Sandford decided to keep the car for his own personal use and reregistered it as 'GGT 1N' in 1975. The caring custodian Mike Sandford drove the car sparingly on leisurely jaunts from his home near Petworth to Goodwood and for get-togethers with friends at London's Steering Wheel Club. Having owned the car for more than 30 years and covering fewer than 7,000 miles during that time (as confirmed by a complete set of MoT test certificates) he decided to sell the car and re-registered it as 'NRX 572K'. In early 2006, the car was sold to Graham Horder and treated to a mechanical overhaul by Reeders. In February 2012, the car was purchased by John Mayston-Taylor, former proprietor and MD of Lynx. With a mere 26,862 miles recorded, the car was given a thorough mechanical overhaul and returned to its original colour of Blu Chiaro Metallizzato, while being reregistered as 'OVV 4'. Official Ferrari Classiche Certification was granted in January 2013 and the following September the car returned to Italy for the first time in more than 40 years, participating in the exclusive Italia Classica and running faultlessly throughout the event. A discreet, switchable, electric power steering unit was installed, which we are told transforms the driving experience. In 2016 the car changed hands to our vendor, after being offered for auction at Goodwood. Purchased to fulfil a dream of driving a Ferrari Daytona to Monaco which he duly completed, the car then became part of a private collection in Cheshire. When first purchased, Trevor Farrington Ltd of Cheshire maintained the car and when not in use it is permanently garaged in a heated room. The car has been treated to further regular services and was recently serviced in January of this year. The car is sold complete with V5C registration document, Ferrari Classiche Red Book, its original leather wallet with all books and the original tool roll complete with tools. Copies of original factory correspondence, service and repair invoices, and near every MoT test certificate are included. Currently sitting on chrome wire wheels (the original five star wheels are also sold with the car). With a total mileage of just 31,500 and multiple long-term ownership including nearly a decade with our vendor, the car remains in highly original and unmolested condition, making it very rare among cars of its type today. Benefitting from a recent service and driving superbly, this iconic low-mileage Daytona must be one of the very best examples currently available. Supplied new in CaliforniaBeautifully rebuilt as 911 Carrera 2.7 RS EvocationOriginal five speed manual gearboxBuilt for comfort and to be usedThis left hand drive 1976 Porsche 911 2.7 Carrera S fitted with a five speed manual gearbox, was originally sold in California where it spent it’s life until it was purchased by the current owner and imported to the UK in March 2018. In its first year in the UK, an RS Lightweight conversion was carried out which included bodywork repairs and a full bare metal respray in 2018/19 which was carried out by OSC in Chessington. As the car had spent its pre-UK life in San Diego, California, there were only two minor areas of corrosion that needed addressing. The front wing extensions that house the indicators are metal and genuine Porsche parts and the rear engine cover is metal with a fibreglass ducktail spoiler fitted. The front bonnet has been replaced with a genuine Porsche period ‘long bonnet’. The car has been built to Lightweight rather than Touring specification, so both the front and rear bumpers are fibreglass as they would have been on an original car. Finished in Viper Green which is an original Porsche period factory colour, the paintwork is in very good condition throughout. The wheels are original Fuchs alloys with extremely rare deep-dish rears. The interior is largely original but some tasteful upgrades have been made as the owner wanted a usable classic with the external appearance of a '73 RS rather than a full replica. The steering wheel is the original, although it has been retrimmed in Nappa leather, as indeed has the dashboard. The present owner also added genuine 70's era Porsche electric seats with twelve-way control on the driver’s side and eight-way on the passenger side. Along with the seats, Porsche electric window mechanisms and switches and a modern face off radio were fitted to make the car more usable and comfortable. The original seats, manual window winders and mechanisms are available should a future owner wished to return the car to stock. The owner reports that the engine runs well and as the car started out as a 2.7 Carrera S, the engine is largely similar to a genuine RS. There have not been many upgrades to the engine, other than the correct twin exhaust system fitted and a replacement oil sump with oil drain. The warm-up regulator and the fuel injection distributor have both been rebuilt by renowned experts KMI. The fuel injectors have been replaced by Porsche specialists GT-One in Chertsey, who also completed all the other engine work. Servicing has been carried out on an annual basis and the most recent service replaced the oil, filters, plugs and leads. The four Continental tyres have done less than 200 miles. The car is supplied with a V5 registration document, its original owner’s manual/service book and two sets of keys. Accompanying this is a Porsche letter confirming the car has matching numbers, a file containing invoices from GT-One for the work completed and all of the invoices for parts and KMI work. There are service stamps in the warranty book that run to the early 2000's when car was parked up by its previous owner in California and mileages match from the last stamp to the car's odometer. Celebrity musician ownerRare modelLow mileage exampleThe 1987 BMW 525e was a part of the E28 5 Series, known for its balance of performance and efficiency. The ‘e’ in 525e stood for ‘eta’, representing BMW’s focus on fuel economy with a low-revving, high-torque 2.7 litre M20 inline-six engine. Producing around 121hp and 170lb-ft of torque, it was paired with a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. While not a high-performance model, the 525e excelled in reliability, smooth driving, and fuel efficiency. Its classic BMW design, solid build quality, and comfortable interior made it a desirable choice for long-distance cruising and everyday use. This low mileage BMW is finished in Bronze metallic paintwork which is complemented with a Pearl velour interior and benefits from a factory fitted electric sunroof, electric windows and BBS alloy wheels. This automatic Lux version is offered from a celebrity musician’s private collection after 14 years of ownership and enjoyment. Superb condition throughoutRare example being just one of 12 in existence The story of the Dolomite starts in 1936 when, facing bankruptcy, Triumph launched a new range of models headed by the Dolomite, powered by a brand new, all alloy overhead valve 1767cc engine with crossflow cylinder heads designed by Donald Healey. The cars featured the famous waterfall grille by Walter Belgrove and on the roadster models, a fold out rear ‘dicky’ seat. This rare Triumph Dolomite Roadster 14/65 is finished in gleaming red with beige hide interior. This example is one of just 12 examples in existence, only half of which are road going! The first owner of this example is not known however, we do know the car has had just four owners from new, the second owner purchased the car in 1951/2 from Chequered Garage in Chiswick, London and he sold the car in 1964. The car remained in the same family, passing from father to son until 2019 and it has had owner since then. This is a particularly fine example with matching chassis and engine numbers and it is presented in outstanding condition throughout with excellent body and paintwork, perfect carpets and leather, with the car running and driving beautifully. It comes with a nice history which includes a handbook, an invoice from Pilkington for the windscreen, photocopy of a book showing this car, a handwritten history of this car, workshop manual and a V5 registration document. Mulliner and Park Ward, joined forces to become arguably the most well-known automotive design house, Mulliner Park Ward. This very specific model was produced in limited numbers and, in fact, represents just one of 369 examples compared to 16,717 four-door models, specifically noted by the timeless grace of the swage lines setting it apart from the standard Silver Shadows. This fine-looking example, owned by a classic car collector for almost eight years, has been stored and cared-for along with the rest of his collection, in a temperature and humidity-controlled warehouse. Complete with the original hard-back, owner’s book, this represents a genuine opportunity to own a rare, early Silver Shadow Coupé, used sparingly but regularly and offered in metallic grey with a matching black leather interior. It was exported back from the west coast of the US in about 2015 and the following year, a light restoration took place with, most importantly, a full strip down and repaint from blue to the current colour. Apparently, the works included refurbished chrome and some minor engine repairs although the HPI only details the colour change with the other items taken from previous sales documents. Recent recommissioning work has been completed by specialists including Neil Sandell, with invoices in the last six months totalling close to £7,000 with work on the engine, electrics and braking system as well a full service and MoT test to ensure all is running and driving well. With just three previous owners, the last of which also added ‘Apple CarPlay’ to the central dash area, this quintessentially classic British car will be driven to the sale as a demonstration of its reliability. The 944 was intended to last into the 1990s but major revisions planned for a 944 S3 model were eventually rolled into the 968 instead which replaced the 944. These included a new dashboard together with new door panels, embedded radio antenna as well as some mechanical changes. Also included was a larger fuel tank, optional heated and powered seats, Porsche Hi-Fi sound system and revisions in the mounting of the transaxle to reduce noise and vibration. The numbers built, reflecting the popularity of the model, made it one of the most successful cars in Porsche's history.First registered on 2nd April 1992, the lovely Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet offered here is presented in white with a blue interior. Boasting an impressive service book with no less than 12 stamps, the car has clearly been well cared for throughout its 33-year life. This exceptional Baroque polychrome and parcel-gilt wood sculpture of Saint Rupert of Salzburg, attributed to the renowned Salzburg School, dates to the late 17th to early 18th century. A commanding presence in ecclesiastical art, this masterfully carved figure exemplifies the height of Austrian Baroque craftsmanship, characterized by its expressive naturalism, richly ornamented gilding, and striking polychrome decoration. The saint is portrayed in full episcopal vestments, wearing an elaborate, gold-adorned mitre and a voluminous chasuble that cascades in deeply carved folds, capturing the dynamic energy so central to Baroque religious sculpture. His left hand grasps a finely detailed crozier, a symbol of his spiritual authority, while his right hand holds a holy book surmounted by a salt barrel-a direct reference to his role in revitalizing Salzburg's salt industry, the foundation of the city's economic and historical identity. The Salzburg School of sculpture, influenced by both Italian Baroque exuberance and the meticulous craftsmanship of German and South Tyrolean traditions, produced some of the most distinguished religious works of the period. This statue exemplifies the hallmarks of this celebrated school, particularly in its striking facial realism, the intricate detailing of Saint Rupert's beard and hair, and the finely articulated hand gestures, which convey both piety and engagement. The polychromy remains vivid, lending lifelike warmth to the figure's complexion, while the combination of burnished and matte gilding techniques enhances the depth and texture of the vestments. The artist's attention to anatomical accuracy and the play of light across the drapery reflects the influence of sculptors such as Georg Raphael Donner (1693-1741) and Meinrad Guggenbichler (1649-1723), both of whom were instrumental in shaping the Salzburg School's distinct style. As the patron saint of Salzburg and its first bishop, Saint Rupert is a particularly significant figure in Austrian religious history. He was instrumental in establishing the city as a center of Christianity and economic prosperity, largely due to the region's salt mines, which gave Salzburg its name. His association with the salt trade is rarely depicted as clearly as in this sculpture, where the small barrel resting atop the holy book serves as a poignant symbol of his enduring legacy. This imagery would have resonated deeply with Salzburg's religious and civic identity during the Baroque period, making such a representation highly desirable for both ecclesiastical and private devotional settings. This remarkable statue is in exceptionally well-preserved condition, retaining much of its original polychrome surface and gold leaf detailing. The subtle craquelure in the painted areas is consistent with its age, and there is no significant restoration or loss, making it a rare survivor of its period. Comparable works can be found in the Salzburg Cathedral Museum and the Belvedere Museum in Vienna.Artist: Austrian (Salzburg) SchoolIssued: c. 1750Dimensions: 30"L x 15"W x 60"H (including staff)Country of Origin: AustriaProvenance: John and Johanna Bass Collection, New York, NY; Bass Museum of Art, Miami Beach, FL, 1963. A rare and exceptional 14th-century Gothic carved lindenwood sculpture depicting Saint Theodul, the first bishop of Valais, Switzerland. This masterfully crafted piece, attributed to the Swiss School, showcases the saint seated in a position of authority, his hands extended in a gesture that suggests he once held a symbolic object, possibly a crozier or book. This figure is adorned with its original polychrome, which has been remarkably preserved. The sculpture's red and gold vestments, combined with the intricate carving of the facial features and drapery, emphasize a high level of craftsmanship. His tall mitre and solemn expression further highlight Saint Theodul's ecclesiastical status. This sculpture is a significant representation of the Swiss School of Gothic art, a tradition deeply influenced by both French High Gothic naturalism and Germanic structural solidity. The use of lindenwood is consistent with the Swiss School, as it was a material favored in Swiss religious sculpture for its fine grain and ability to retain intricate details. The Swiss School's religious statuary often emphasized hierarchical symbolism and devotion, as seen in the rigid yet expressive posture of Saint Theodul. The bold polychromy, particularly the red and gold hues, aligns with medieval Swiss artistic traditions that aimed to enhance the lifelike presence of religious figures. Swiss sculptors of this period worked closely with painters to create richly detailed, vividly painted figures.Saint Theodul (c. 340-400 CE), as the first bishop of Valais, was a revered figure in medieval Switzerland, known for his role in establishing Christian influence in the Swiss Alps. He is historically credited with securing the papal-approved transfer of relics of the Theban Legion to the region, further cementing Valais as an early Christian stronghold. Devotional sculptures like this were likely commissioned for monastic centers or cathedral altars, serving as objects of veneration. The presence of such an elaborate carving suggests that this piece may have originated from a high-status ecclesiastical setting, possibly a bishopric or monastic treasury.Artist: Swiss SchoolIssued: Circa 1350Dimensions: 12"L x 9"W x 31"HCountry of Origin: SwitzerlandProvenance: John and Johanna Bass Collection, New York, NY; Bass Museum of Art, Miami Beach, FL, 1963. A WW2 era German Casualty Soldbuch, together with a rare surviving casualty wound label, named to Schutzen Joseph Bierl of the 1/Panzergrenadier-Regiment 129. Josef Bierl was born in June 1922, and joined the Wehrmacht in December 1941. He underwent his grenadier training, and then joined Schutzen-Regiment 129, which later became Panzergrenadier-Regiment 129, which formed part of the 22.Panzer Division. Josef served in the southern part of the eastern front in July 1942, where he sustained shrapnel wounds to both legs, an arm, and head. Despite his injuries, he was fit enough to rejoin his unit by October 1942. He was badly wounded in November 1942, where he received a ‘Begleitzettle’, which instructed his doctor to amputate his leg. Unfortunately this wasn’t enough to save his life, and he died at Feldlazarret 779 the day after the amputation. His grave is located at Kaschary / Millerowo-Russland. Condition: both the Soldbuch and label are in good condition, showing just normal light age and service wear, plus the Soldbuch is complete. No photograph was ever fixed into the book. The inside page of the Soldbuch has a little water staining, but this doesn’t detract.

Lot 144C

He is commemorated in the memorial book at the Poznan-Milostowo cemetery in Poland. The citation included would appear to congratulate Mory for his efforts in providing food for the company, even in the most trying circumstances, such as snow drifts and lack of transport. Condition: good. Some normal age related wear, such as light stains, fold lines etc, but all of the details remain clear.

Lot 606

A genuine 19,000 mile Sapphire Cosworth in excellent condition throughout.  In 1986, the original Sierra Cosworth was a new kind of performance car - a blue-collar hero able to humble true sports cars. A couple of years later, Ford introduced the Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth, a more ‘discreet’ version, built using the four-door Sapphire bodyshell, initially with the same rear-wheel drive layout as the three-door original and then later with four-wheel drive, but even with a more restrained exterior, a plush velour interior and an executive four-door shell, the Sapphire was far from dull. The early rear-wheel drive cars benefited from 204bhp from the YBB engine (205 block), a T5 gearbox, 7" x 15" lattice alloy wheels, front and rear spoilers, side skirts and Recaro seats, with 0-60mph taking 6.1 seconds. Despite the extra power and potential for greater traction, the later 4x4 Sapphire was slower to 60mph, reaching the speed in 6.6 seconds. Approximately 13,140 2WD Sapphire examples were produced during 1988-1989 and all were assembled in Belgium at Ghenk, powered by UK-built Ford-Cosworth engines.Supplied new by Candor Motors Ltd in Colchester (Dealer Code 44179) on 11th June 1990 to its first keeper, Mr David King, this particular two-wheel drive Sapphire RS Cosworth is finished in Diamond White complemented by a full Raven leather interior. Used sparingly throughout its life the Sapphire, at the time of viewing, had a current recorded mileage of just 19,173 which, over a period of some 24 years, equates to an annual mileage of less than 800. In superb order throughout, the Cosworth has clearly been maintained as required confirmed by the original service book displaying 11 service stamps. The car's history file and dealer book pack also contains a selection of previous V5Cs, older MOT certificates and tax discs, Vecta immobiliser details and various invoices and associated paperwork. It's recently benefited from four new tyres, however three of the original D40 tyres have been retained but are clearly not now fitted due to age and a new standard fitment exhaust has very recently being sourced and is now in place. With the availability of a substantial number of aftermarket performance and cosmetic enhancements for these cars, it’s rare to find one with nothing added or nothing taken away, so if you are looking for an unmolested, original RS Cosworth, this is probably one of the worthiest candidates currently available. The lighter and rarer version of the Sapphire, this two-wheel drive example is one for the Ford connoisseur offering its new owner entry into the exclusive world of RS ownership and with that in mind, we welcome and encourage your early inspection to satisfy yourself as to the suitability of this increasingly desirable Cosworth. Specification Make: FORD Model: SIERRA SAPPHIRE COSWORTH - 2WD Year: 1990 Chassis Number: WFOFXXGBBFKE72208 Registration Number: G938 VKJ Transmission: Manual Engine Number: KE72208 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 19173 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Raven HideClick here for more details and images

One of only 295 right-hand drive UK cars, this Nautic Blue 20-Valve (RR) is fresh from a four year full restoration.  The Audi Quattro may not have been the first four-wheel drive production car (that honour belongs to the 1966 Jensen Interceptor FF), but its place in history is assured. Thanks in no small part to its enormous rallying success, the Quattro popularized all-wheel drive and is now regarded as one of the most influential and important sports cars of the 1980s. The brainchild of Jörg Bensinger, an Audi chassis engineer, development work was started in 1977 and three years later, the finished product was released. Although the floor pan had much in common with the Audi 80 and the running gear was largely taken from an Audi 200, the Quattro used a manual centre differential lock (operated by levers next to the handbrake) to govern the 197bhp and 210lb/ft power outputs delivered by the 2.1-litre in-line five-cylinder turbocharged engine.Introduced in August 1989, the RR was the final development of the Quattro and by the time this particular car arrived in 1990, the crude cable-operated 50:50 split differential had been replaced with a much more advanced Torsen (torque sensing) diff, and the engine had been uprated with double overhead camshafts and a larger 2,226cc capacity, upping power to 217bhp.Presented in its original factory colour of Nautic Blue, this desirable Quattro 20V (RR) was first registered in the UK on 7th March 1990. It’s on offer from four years current ownership, most of which have been spent in a trim-out, glass-out, rotisserie, bare metal restoration. The bodyshell was fully stripped, the underside refinished in the correct Raptor Bed and fully sealed before being built up with new heat shields, diffs/driveshafts, new gaiters, seals, poly-bushed, suspension struts, powder-coated subframes, new discs, pads, brake and fuel lines and more. The engine is original and was fully stripped and all parts vapour-blasted before being re-bored and rebuilt with 0.5mm oversize pistons. The radiator was re-cored and numerous engine ancillaries were restored or replaced. Prior to reassembly, the bodyshell was prepared and painted in its original Nautic Blue and we understand that this alone cost over £18,000. New bespoke tyres were sourced from Longstone Tyres at a cost of £1,000 and the wheels were refurbished and finished in the correct factory colour. The interior benefited from new carpets from Coverdale, a NOS rear parcel shelf and a brand new OE period-look Blaupunkt head unit was fitted. We understand that many thousands have been invested in returning this rare 20-Valve Quattro to top form and as can be seen in our images, the results are very impressiveThe car is supplied with a history file containing the V5C, old MOT Certificates, the service book with 15 stamps up until 2007, the original leather owners handbook and some restoration invoices. Having recently completed its four-year restoration, this desirable and much sought after Audi Quattro 20V is now ready for its next owner and we encourage your viewing at our Race Retro Sale.Specification Make: AUDI Model: UR QUATTRO 2.2 TURBO RR 20V Year: 1990 Chassis Number: WAUZZZ85ZLA000493 Registration Number: G922 RSA Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 97437 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images

Lot 649

An exceptional example of Datsun's second generation 'Z-car' finished in the rarely seen Wine Red Metallic with low ownership and less than 30,000 miles. The Datsun 260Z was the second generation of 'Z' two-seat coupés produced by Nissan in Japan from 1975 to 1978. Its dramatic looks owed a considerable amount to a 1960's styling concept drawn by Count Albrecht Goertz for Datsun, presumably at a time when they were considering ways to break into the European sports car market. The 260Z coupé replaced the 240Z. The engine was enlarged with a longer stroke to 2.6-litres with a consequential increase in power from 150bhp to 165bhp and the car was stiffened by the extension of the chassis rails and the addition of a rear roll bar. Much like the 240Z, the car was fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and the car featured independent suspension all round with MacPherson struts at the front and Chapman links at the rear. Rack and pinion power steering and front disc brakes meant that the 260Z remained a thoroughly modern package whilst retaining the classic good looks of its smaller engined predecessor. This exceptional example is finished in the rarely seen Wine Red Metallic (611) with a black cloth interior. It was supplied new by C. Ward Garages Ltd, the Datsun main dealer in Stevenage, on 24th August 1978 to its first of only two keepers. Pleasingly, the original Bill of Sale for £6,263 less a trade-in allowance for a Triumph TR7 remains in the car's history file. The file also contains the V5C, eight old MOT Certificates, an invoice for the first service by C. Ward with a matching stamp in the book, the original service book with four stamps, the last at 24,191 miles in October 1992, a copy of the original enquiry for a 260Z responded to by Datsun of Baker Street dated July 1978 and an original sales brochure with this car believed to be on the front coverThe second custodian acquired this special 'Z' car in 2015 and commenced a sympathetic recommissioning, returning the car to top form. The file contains numerous receipts for parts etc. including a bespoke stainless steel exhaust built by him to finish it off. Purchased by our vendor fairly recently, a change in circumstances have dictated that he has had to reduce his Collection and this beautiful Datsun has now become available. This 260Z represents a rare opportunity to own one of these iconic Japanese sports cars in a rare colour with just 29,670 miles from new. Sensibly estimated, we encourage your inspection at our Race Retro Sale.Specification Make: DATSUN Model: 260Z Year: 1978 Chassis Number: RS30021255 Registration Number: BRO 372T Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 29670 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Black ClothClick here for more details and images

Lot 614

Rare UK-supplied fourth generation twin-turbo Supra with less than 25,000 miles. The highly anticipated fourth generation (A80) Supra was finally unveiled at the 1993 Chicago Motor Show after four years in development under the guidance of chief engineer Isao Tsuzuki, who had also worked on the first Celica and both generations of the MR2. Unlike anything Toyota had produced before, the A80's proportions and flowing design owed more to the 2000GT of the 1960s than its predecessor. With a long, low bonnet line and high-rise optional rear spoiler, it was aerodynamically efficient and clearly aimed at delivering a much higher top speed. Allied to a simplified engine line up of either naturally aspirated or twin-turbocharged 3-litre JZ-series straight-six offering between 220bhp and 326bhp, top-spec turbo versions with Toyota’s first 6-speed gearbox now offered ‘supercar’ performance. With its sumptuous leather interior and blistering performance, the new Supra was aimed squarely at the Porsche driver, some of whom were tempted. The marketing department at Toyota perhaps underestimated the badge snobbery raging amongst affluent yet conservative petrol-heads of the mid-1990s and although the Supra had the looks of a supercar, the refinement of a Mercedes-Benz, and 0-60mph to rival the Ferrari Testarossa TR at under five seconds, initial sales were slow. Toyota UK officially imported just 623 cars between 1993-1996 and these were only sold from 25 specially selected dealers.Purchased by our vendor in 2017, this wonderful low-mileage Supra Twin-Turbo presents well in Super White over a Light Tan interior and is a UK-supplied car. UK cars can be distinguished from JDM imports by a number of features including the steel turbo, uprated brakes, additional sound deadening, the distinctive bonnet scoop and automatic chin spoiler. It's powered by the twin-turbocharged 3-litre '2JZ-GTE' straight-six, delivering 326bhp and 325lb/ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission and offering 0-60 in 4.6 seconds and on to 180mph.The car has covered just 24,433 miles from new and is in commensurate condition. It's supplied with its full original book pack which contains a comprehensive service history from Toyota and Toyota Specialists. A good number of Supras have been further modified and fitted with body kits so it's good to find a low-mileage, original, UK car that has patently been cared for. Specification Make: TOYOTA Model: SUPRA TWIN TURBO Year: 1994 Chassis Number: JT164JA8000007494 Registration Number: L929 EDW Transmission: Automatic Engine Number: 2JZ0221514 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 24433 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images

Lot 648

Rare GT Junior from the last year of production in a great colour, much enjoyed during 18 years long term ownership and recently refreshed. Alfa Romeo 105/115 Series Coupés were built from 1963 until 1977 and were the successors to the celebrated Giulietta Sprint Coupé, utilising the shortened floorpan from the Giulia saloon car. The basic body shape, shared by all models, was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro for Bertone as one of his first major projects and is regarded as one of his finest commercial efforts. The balance of glass and metal, the influence of the front and rear screens on the shape of the cabin and the flat grille with incorporated headlamps were all considered groundbreaking styling features of the era. Apart from their good looks, these cars are often considered as some of the best handling classic saloons and with a 5-speed gearbox, all round disc brakes, independent suspension and torquey engine, they were very advanced for the time and have the capability to embarrass many of their modern counterparts.First registered in 1977 and one of the last examples to be registered in the UK, this particular 1600 Junior was comprehensively restored in 2012 and has been used and enjoyed by the present owner since 2006, some 18 years. For much of that time it's been used as a daily driver and needed to be 'on the button' and ready to go when and wherever required, so further in-depth recommissioning was carried out in 2022 to keep ahead of any deterioration.Presenting superbly, this matching numbers Junior is finished in Blu Olandese (323) with a contrasting tan hide interior and we are told is in excellent condition throughout both bodily and mechanically with a detailed pre-sale check to be carried out prior to being offered at Race Retro. With an original ‘on the road’ figure of £3,517, a not inconsiderable sum at the time, these vehicles attracted dedicated buyers, an ethos which has continued over the years with this particular example having had just four custodians in total, all of which have clearly maintained the little Alfa as required with invoices from respected specialists including Ian Ellis Alfa and Fostering Classics featuring in the car's comprehensive history file. Alongside the original stamped service book there are numerous tax discs, previous MOT certificates and two framed Alfa Romeo Owners Club Concours awards from the 1990’s.The GT 1600 Junior had the lowest production of the Tipo 105 Series Coupés and when combined with being one of the last few UK cars and finished in an unusual colour, this is a rare car. A perfect opportunity to take custody of one of the most handsome 2+2 Coupés of the 1970s that will provide ‘classic’ family motoring for years to come. Your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged.Specification Make: ALFA ROMEO Model: 1600 JUNIOR Year: 1977 Chassis Number: 0001721 Registration Number: XBT 49R Transmission: Manual Engine Number: TBC Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 116798 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Tan HideClick here for more details and images

Isaac van Amburgh, an American lion tamer, in 1838-9 delighted London with his daring performances at venues such as the Drury Lane Theatre and Astley's Amphitheatre. Queen Victoria was an enormous admirer of his show, writing that 'you can never see it too often, for it is different each time.' (Journal, 29 January, 1839). Van Amburgh is usually credited with being the first man ever to put his head into the mouth of a lion.He delighted crowds as he fearlessly wrestled wild ferocious cats and as a finale fulfilled the Biblical prophesy by having them lie meekly down beside a lamb. This figurine is one of two versions created by the Lloyds, here the lamb is included, however more often this element is replaced by a lion cub. (see V&A: S.160-1986 for alternate version) Refer: Pugh, p.461, fig.200 or Harding Book 1, Page 135, Fig 135/5. There is a wonderful portrait of Van. Amburgh, lying in a cage with his animals, in the Royal Collection. Sir Edwin Landseer: RCIN 406346. LIONS: A very rare large pair of Staffordshire Pottery Figurines, modelled as Lions & Lambs, circa 1850, each seated with large manes over a recumbent lamb, painted in colours and on gilt lined base, 26cm & 25cm high. It is likely these are based upon the animals of Isaac Van Amburgh who made ‘the lion lay down with the lamb’ in his enormously popular show. This is a very nicely modelled and painted pair. Refer: Harding Book 2, Page 258, Figs 3013/3014 One of the lambs has a chip/loss to its leg. Both have some firing cracks with one having a crack down the spine, to the front of base and the back of the head of the lamb. Condition report Both lions are in generally good overall condition There is a small black mark on the lower leg of the left hand figure, this is tiny and raised. It may prove to be dirt, but I did not want to attempt to remove it in case it removed paint. It should also be noted that one lamb is better defined and while these have been catalogued as a pair it is not possible to be certain they were sold originally together. Usually these might be termed matched, but in this instance I am not certain, they may have always been together, just one is a more effective moulding. Certainly the decoration is very closely matched, particularly in the faces and general coloration. In any event they look wonderful together. There is another similar example in this auction, the other piece is half the scale.
