A scarce WW2 era Soviet Russian summer weight tanker jacket, with 2 enamel badges applied to the right breast. Olive drab green cotton, with 2 breast pockets and 5 buttons to the front. A further 2 buttons are each cuff (each button with a star, hammer and sickle motifs. Wool epaulette to each shoulder, with evidence of a badge having been mounted there. The badges pinned to the right breast include the very rare pre war era RKKA badge, and a WW2 era Tanker badge for excellence in combat.Both badges are screw back (one with replacement later fitting). Notes: information supplied by the vendor states that the jacket was purchased from Major Yuri Kumikov of The Amour Museum, Saritov, Russia. It’s believed to date from circa 1940/41. No apparent issue or maker marks to the jacket. Condition: Small hole to the fabric under one of the epaulettes (one epaulette is also partly detached. Some very minor spot soiling in places, but nothing that is detrimental. Both badges are in good condition, but one has a replacement screw back.

A WW2 POLISH/BRITISH MEDAL GROUP AND ARCHIVE OF PERSONAL EFFECTS BELONGING TO THE LATE CAPTAIN JOZEF KALEBA OF THE 3rd CARPATHIAN RIFLE DIVISION The medal group comprising War Medal, Defence Medal, 1939-1945 Star, Africa Star and Italy Star; alongside Polish Army Medal 1939-1945, Monte Cassino Cross, Silver Cross of Merit with Swords and Cross of Valour, with corresponding ribbon bars, the Polish medals all having miniatures; also, a selection of later-issued medals including a Tobruk Siege 1941 medal with name engraved verso and associated neck tie.  In addition: a Captain's service dress tunic, with bullion-embroidered epaulette rank insignia, Doctor's velvet collar pennants and ribbon bars for medals above listed; corresponding brown leather Sam Browne belt and document case; a tropical tunic in khaki cotton twill; a field surgery kit, housed in a black painted tin; a folio of period documents, tobacco pipe hand-engraved "Egipt, Tobruk, El Gazala, Derna, Cyrena"; dog tags; and a copy of Kaleba's autobiography in the original Polish, together with a typed English translation, a photograph of Kaleba in military uniform, an oak-cased Busch microscope belonging to him and a series of original cartoon postcards, dated 1939-1940, by Kaleba's friend Maciek Piotrowski, who in later years worked as an graphic artist in the movie industryCondition Report:"Monte Cassino Cross is numbered 48930.Please note the inclusion of the breast eagle and Carpathian badge with the lot, alongside the related prayer book and scarab bead (a souvenir of Kaleba's time in Egypt). Nichols DSO RN (1898-1986) DSO RN., A Royal Navy Officers bicorn, epaulettes and sword belt by Gieves beaver felt bicorn hat edged with gold lace and with central black ribbed cockade and three loops of gold bullion, the central one twisted over a button, at either end a blue and gold tassel together with a pair of Captains full dress bullion epaulettes with silver bullion fouled anchor and red velvet crown, and a sword belt, contained in painted tole tin named for C.A.G. Nichols commander of HMS Canton 12.2.1941-2.3.1942 and HMAS Shropshire 25.9.1944-14.4. 1946hat inner circumference 55cm/21 3/4" belt size approx. 35"Condition: The bicorn has wear to felt around edges and on the crown. One bullion tassel is slightly pulled on one end. One epaulette had a crown detached but present. Occasional pulling to epaulettes. Sword belt generally fair but with one some issues Tin is bashed and one corned is bent upwards, rusting dirts and old labels, sliding bolt does not fully engage

A scarce WW2 era Soviet Russian summer weight tanker jacket, with 2 enamel badges applied to the right breast. Olive drab green cotton, with 2 breast pockets and 5 buttons to the front. A further 2 buttons are each cuff (each button with a star, hammer and sickle motifs. Wool epaulette to each shoulder, with evidence of a badge having been mounted there. The badges pinned to the right breast include the very rare pre war era RKKA badge, and a WW2 era Tanker badge for excellence in combat.Both badges are screw back (one with replacement later fitting). Notes: information supplied by the vendor states that the jacket was purchased from Major Yuri Kumikov of The Amour Museum, Saritov, Russia. It’s believed to date from circa 1940/41. No apparent issue or maker marks to the jacket. Condition: Small hole to the fabric under one of the epaulettes (one epaulette is also partly detached. Some very minor spot soiling in places, but nothing that is detrimental. Both badges are in good condition, but one has a replacement screw back.

Brown (presumably the son of Robert Brown)These WW2 medals are a late issue, with the accompanying slip being dated 1982.They include 1939-45 star, Atlantic star, 1939-45 war medal, plus the Atlantic clasp (the award of this clasp is an anomaly, as it cannot be worn with any of the medals issued, even though it is confirmed on the slip).Plus, 3 commemorative medals, a single Merchant Navy epaulette, a cased Victorian photograph of a young gentleman, a WW1 ere portrait photograph of RNAS officer (named Norman Leithead to the reverse), a brass bullet case with the head converted to a propelling pencil, and other items.Condition: generally good to most items.Service wear to the WW1 medals, which have also toned.The WW2 medals appear to be unworn.The hinge of the cased Victorian photograph is at fault and held together with tape.
