The family lived at 10 Chesham Street, London from 1911, while Baron Meyendorff served as a diplomatic attaché in the Russian Embassy. Baroness Meyendorff and her husband were intrepid explorers. They spent their honeymoon on the Inca trails in Peru and Bolivia, where Nadine took some two hundred photographs and wrote a diary. These were published as L'Amazonie d'une baronne Russe, Des Andes à l'Atlantique en 1903. She and her husband collaborated on L'Empire du Soleil: Pérou et Bolivie, published in 1909.Nadine was also a courageous and expert mountain climber.
