Two George III Silver Rectangular Snuff Boxes, both by John Betteridge, Birmingham 1826 and 1824, both with engine turned ornament and rectangular cartouche to lids, the larger, 3.125ins x 2ins x .5ins high, weight 2.9ozs, the smaller engraved with monogram and with reeded sides, 2.5ins x 1.625ins x .5ins, weight 1.38ozsBoth of a good gauge of silver
The larger box - Birmingham 1826 - appears to be in good condition. Some light surface scratches commensurate with age and use. Silver gilt interior - kings head, makers mark and lion passant well struck on lid, with anchor, makers mark and date letter to base.
Smaller box - Birmingham 1824, - appears to be in good condition. Engraved with monogram. Small dent to lid which is only apparent on the inside. Silver gilt interior with anchor, makers mark and date letter struck to base, kings head, makers mark and lion passant well struck on lid.
