Henry Charles Fox RBA - A large and handsome watercolour of the River Great Ouse at St Ives Cambridgeshire, dated 1903 - Depicts from downstream on the River Great Ouse: the ancient St Ives Town Bridge with Bridge Chapel (pre-1930s structure); the fine former Queen Anne riversidehouse; the wide, natural Riverport basin; fen lighter barges with crews, moored at the former Tommy Doo's boatyard; and other boats tied up in midstream - Inscribed on the mount "St Ives Bridge, Hunts. Note: Lord Ventry co-wrote ‘Jane’s Pocket Book 7: Airship Development’ and he also set up the ‘The Airship Club’ in 1948 to fund the building of an airship. Eventually, Ventry’s airship – named ‘Bournemouth’ - had its first flight in 1951. It made eleven flights before crash landing in 1952.
