He gained the Miltary Cross for his service in Italy in November 1942 and recieved an OBE in 1963. He was Brigadier of the Royal Company of Archers between 1973 and 1985 (Dalyell, 2007). His grandmother was Lady Maud Warrender (see lot 35).
