Hamilton (George) The Elements of Drawing, 51 engraved plates (?of 52) including 10 hand-coloured, 8pp. advertisements at end, frontispiece and title browned, light foxing, mainly to plates, ink inscription to title, bookplate, contemporary boards rebacked with later red morocco, gilt, boards slightly rubbed, 8vo, 1812.
Wale (Samuel R.A.) (Sailors bringing tea ashore), drawing, pen and black ink over pencil, with grey wash, 163 x 150mm., unexamined out of frame, framed and glazed, mid 18th century. *** The drawing shows three women drinking tea around a fire in the countryside, as sailors unload a further shipment onto the shore. In the background a "Crown Inn" stands neglected and dilapidated. A label on the reverse suggests this to be a preparatory drawing for an engraving.
Architecture.- Hollar (Wenceslaus) (A Chalice), after a finely detailed drawing by Andrea Mantegna in the collection of the Earl of Arundel, etching, 465 x 240mm., narrow margins, upper three-quarters laid at edges onto a loose album leaf, horizontal fold, with a slight split, above lower quarter with an area of loss to the left side, not affecting image or title, two short tears and light creasing in this section, a surface abrasion, spotting and surface dirt, 1640; (The Tower St Rombaut's, Mechelen), detailed elevation of the 13th century structure, without background, etching, two plates joined, 740 x 155mm., laid down, old horizontal folds, slight browning and spotting, a few light surface abrasions, not affecting the engraved area, surface dust, Antwerp, 1649; with an early 19th century engraved view of Harefield Palace and a pen and ink drawing of a monastery interior (4).
Illingworth (Leslie Gilbert) (Apartheid), original cartoon of South African prime minister Daniel Malan as Don Quixote, bearing the standard of Apartheid, beside the figure of Havenga as Sancho Panza, pen and black ink over pencil, on card, 385 x 290mm., signed in ink, lower middle, inscribed in pencil on the reverse, Punch, and dated, 1954 ~ (Weisz (Victor)) "Vicky", Funny to think that they may remember me as a "moderate" man, once he started, original cartoon of an apparition of Johannes Strijdom, in Apartheid Valhalla, floating above the seated figure of Dr. Verwoerd, new Prime Minister of South Africa, pen and black ink, with wash and blue crayon, on card, 475 x 400mm., signed in ink, lower left, the figure of Strijdom redrawn on an overlay, with an autograph letter from the artist to Mr Koston, thanking him for his letter of appreciation of the cartoon and offering him this original drawing, 1958 (2).

Elizabeth I (Queen of England).- Camden (William, attributed to) This and the Six following Plates, contain the funeral Procession of Queen Elizabeth, from a Drawing of the time, supposed to be by the hand of William Camden,..., 7 double page plates bound as 14, i.e. pl. 18-24 extracted from vol. 3 of an unidentified work, (published by the Society of Antiquaries?), no text, 1st 2 & last plates repaired, with some loss of engraved surface, later half calf, rather worn, oblong folio, April 23rd 1791; sold not subject to return.
Digby (Henry, seventh Baron and first Earl, d. 1793) A.L.s. to Robert Adam, 1p., sm. 4to, Sherborne Castle, 18th August 1772, "I have received yours of the 5th Inst with a Bill inclosed for a Design of a Bridge I had four years ago & as it was not executed, & indeed, it was not possible to execute it at the spot for which it was intended, I can't help thinking the Charge of twelve Guineas for one drawing of a Bridge in three Arches extravagant & I find other people I have talked to think so likewise, I have been told six Guineas would be enough as you never was from home... . I send you inclosed, a Draft... for the sum of eight pounds eight shillings...", corners cut slightly affecting signature, folds, browned.
