Fenwick, 96 original full-page drawings, 107 original ink drawing vignettes and 1 original watercolour, some woodcut vignettes hand-coloured, bookplate of John George Fenwick, occasional light foxing, contemporary red morocco, gilt, g.e., very slightly rubbed, [Westwood & Satchell p.69], 8vo, Newcastle upon Tyne, George Rutland, 1864. *** Unique; an unusual association copy, profusely extra-illustrated. The additional drawings occupy the blank ff. of the book with vignettes illustrating the half-titles. These charming drawings are of fish, angling and river bank scenes. The watercolour is of an angling permit dated 1889. Fenwick was a close associate of Crawhall. Confusingly, the spine of this book carries a different title, 'Newcastle Fishers' Garlands'. Also confusing is the note opposite the title in the octavo edition saying "Fifty Copies printed on large paper". Interestingly, the limited large paper edition does not carry such a note.
