Vietnam War ARVN Rangers Helmet Shell Battle Damage, Vietnam war era ARVN helmet. Painted in a typical style of camouflage adopted by the ARVN troops in Vietnam with the star and black car painted to the front. The helmet itself has rusted but hasn’t damaged the structure of the helmet itself. A bullet has passed the inner of the helmet leaving and exit hole to the rear of the shell. Nice displayable helmet depicting a Vietnam war unit.

Vietnam War Style M1 US Army Helmet, M1 helmet with fiberglass liner. The helmet has a typical Vietnam war cover with period graffiti. Being that the DSA number stamped onto the cloth cover is dated 1974 it is assumed this is a helmet dressed up to imitate a Vietnam war period helmet. Liner is of fiberglass construction with a broken chin strap. The helmet shell is also missing its chin strap.

The wreck was discovered by Vietnamese fishermen in 1998. It is believed the wreck was a merchant’s junk on its way from Canton (Guangzhou) to Batavia when it caught fire and sank. The ship was carrying goods destined for Dutch traders who had limited access to China and its ports.
