FORREST GUMP (1994) - Forrest Gump's (Tom Hanks) Load-Carrying Equipment with Light-Up Flashlight - Forrest Gump's (Tom Hanks) load-carrying equipment with a light-up flashlight from Robert Zemeckis' Forrest Gump. Forrest wore his utility belt while he was deployed in the army stationed in Vietnam in Lieutenant Dan Taylor's (Gary Sinise) unit. Forrest later used his flashlight to investigate a tunnel his unit bombed. This lot consists of an army green nylon belt, marked "ISS042568L," with various army green canvas pouches marked "ISS014836L"; a black rubber knife; two army green plastic canteens, with one marked "ISS014835L" and the other loose from the belt; and an army green plastic and metal U.S. MX-991/U flashlight. This flashlight lights up with two 1.5v "D" batteries inserted into the canister and the metal switch on the side turned on, illuminating a red light. The flashlight is engraved on the underside "ISS042028L." Curiosity/Macabre : Chinese Torture and Public Execution Photograph Postcards, pair showing Lingchi “death by a thousand cuts”A rare pair of particularly graphic antique photograph postcards of Chinese torture. The first image showing a woman bound in a public space, the second showing the body with the breasts cut off (2). Lingchi "slow slicing" or "death by a thousand cuts" was a form of torture and execution used in China, Vietnam and Korea. A knife was used to methodically remove portions of the body over an extended period of time, eventually resulting in death. Lingchi was reserved for crimes viewed as especially heinous, such as treason.
