The motto appears to be the war-cry of the KERRET family of the Brittany nobility, the engraving is certainly in the French style.

Manning Esq 1965` within an oval laurel bordered reserve to verso, half foliage, the base fluted with a foliate border, 46cm (18 1/4in) high, 3167g (101.85 oz), on a later ebonised socle with a white alloy band engraved with winners from 1965 to 1971 (Mr W. Shand Kydd winning in 1970 and 1971) (marked to foot, cover and finial). Frisbee was a one time partner of Paul Storr. Provenance: William (Bill) Shand Kydd, the champion amateur jockey, who rode 117 winners over jumps during his career and took part in the Grand National.
