A George II sampler, the top with a verse above foliage in vases and a mound to more flowers, the borders with stags to the corners, by "Elizabeth Covlson (S is reversed) Her Sampler 1744", 11.5 x 10in (29 x 25.4cm) stitched onto a later piece of muslim. There are a few holes amongst the verse, otherwise colour and condition is good.
