LISA KATZENSTEIN (born 1956); a tin-glazed Maiolica slip-cast earthenware wave bowl decorated with pears, painted signature, diameter 27cm, height 11.5cm.“Using the ‘double cast’ technique allows the appearance of volume without colossal weight. The design with two pears is a favourite of mine to allude to the use of the piece as a fruit bowl, and I just love the colour green. It can be seen both as a decorative and practical object.” Condition Report: Appears good with no obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.

STEPHEN DIXON (born 1957); 'Paradise Lost', a tin-glazed Maiolica earthenware plate decorated with in-glaze transfers, made 2022, diameter 30.5cm.“Paradise Lost comes from a series of tin-glazed narrative pieces, which combine my interests in ceramic traditions and contemporary issues. Donatello’s 'David' (and Goliath) references the ongoing conflict in the Ukraine, and overlays images from Piccolpasso’s three books of the art of the potter and the ruins of ancient Palmyra.” Condition Report: Appears good with no obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.

AGALIS MANESSI (born 1952); 'Diana's Hound with Red Collar', a tin-glazed Maiolica terracotta sculpture of a resting dog, painted signature dated 2018, length 19.5cm, height 7.5cm.“Diana's hound continues my fascination with modelling inspired by classical paintings. This version refers to the goddess of the hunt, Diana/Artemis, depicted in 'Artemis and Callisto' by Titian in which the dog can be seen resting. Having worked as a ceramic artist for 50 years as a maker and a teacher across all ages, I have seen just how wonderful working in clay can be in discovering a sense of personal expression and creativity.” Condition Report: Appears good with no obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.

A pair of Italian Maiolica tin glazed earthenware olive jars, 18th century, each decorated with bands of formal foliate scrolls, collection labels verso, 14.5cm high (2)(at fault) CONDITION REPORT:One jar shows a star crack to the interior base extending up to the shoulder in one direction and 4cm up the body in the other. The exterior shows extensive wear and various losses to the glazed finish, and chips and losses to the foot rim.The second jar shows a hairline crack running from the shoulders across the base and approximately 2cm up the other side. The exterior shows a pit to the neck rim, extensive wear and various losses to the glazed finish, and chips and losses to the foot rim.

A Laterza maiolica blue and white footed bowl, 18th century, the centre painted with a bird in a stylised landscape, the border with foliage between borders of dash ornament, on a short circular foot, 24.3 cm wide, together with a North Italian porcelain chinoiserie soup-plate, late 18th century, painted in blue, the centre with flowers, the well with diaper panels divided by panels of flowers, the border with four groupings of flowers and foliage within a brown line rim, 22.3 cm. diameter (2)Footnotes: For a related Laterza armorial dish with lion in a landscape within a similar border, see Guido Donatone, La Maiolica di Laterza, Bari, 1980, pl. 40 (b).Condition Report: The Laterza footed bowl broken into two sections and restuck, chipping to the rim.  The soup-plate with a D-shaped section of the rim restuck and stapled in an old repair, with a branching crack around the well and through the border opposite which has been temporarily repaired with adhesive tape - this needs attention from a professional restorer.
