Chipping to feathered quill, the end of the quill is cracked off and detached. The open book with two loose pages (detached but present). The majority of the other books with some minor chipping to edges.

Gien faience inkstand with printed brown mark - hairline cracks to two apertures, one inkwell cracked, restoration to one corner finial (finial mostly lacking), chip to one rear foot, central rectangular aperture lacking liner. Some typical crazing overall. Boat-shaped example marled Clain, France, with replacement liner, chipping to rims. A small inkwell with cover marked 'Desvres France 854, 14..71'. Finial on cover is detached, wear overall. Staffordshire-style pottery spill vase with swan - cracked and restored, regilt.

Late 19th century Meissen (outside decorated) large circular pierced pot-pourri bowl, cancelled blue cross swords marks, incised and painted numerals, moulded with ram's head terminals suspending swags of laurel, the interior painted with loose flower sprays, raised on stilt feet, 32.5cm diameter, a collection of French porcelain inkwells, in the Sevres-style, including a Sevres-style blue ground inkwell and pen rest, gilt with the monogram CA on blue lapis ground and a French porcelain pierced circular basket in the Empire-style, probably Sevres, with gilt pierced interlocking rim and chrome green border, stencilled red marks, incised marks, gilder's mark, painted green date December 1811, 18.7cm diameter (some damages and repairs) (6) Property of Dunkirk Manor, Theescombe, Stroud Condition Report The basket with the green border - there is one section to the rim that has been repaired with staples and with small loss and another chip to the rim. A LOUIS XV STYLE PORCELAIN AND GILT-METAL MOUNTED INKSTANDThe central Cupid figure, German, late 18th Century, on a cartouche shaped Chinoiserie decorated lacquered base with inkwell and sander, naturalistic branches supporting flower-heads. 26.5cm wideCondition report: The earlier German cupid figure with various chips, losses and repairs (notably to the front leg, corner of the hat and extremities). A flower head to the front spray is an obvious replacement, others with chips and and replacements and one loose to the candalbra arm.Metal of the inkwell and sander is a little mis-shapen and bent to the outer edges. The cartouche base is worn and faded. General wear tarnishing and abrasions commensurate with age and use.

Ca. AD 1000 - 1200.A Seljuk silver and copper inlaid brass inkwell with a cylindrical body and a flat lid with a handle with an elaborate hinge on the back. The body is engraved with three floral-shaped medallion panels containing phytomorphic patterns, flanked by a Kufic inscription. A 19th century Austrian cold painted bronze novelty inkwell, in the form of a cardinal bird, with a hinged lid, in the manner of Franz Bergmann, 15cm highOverall condition looks to be complete. Generally dirty. Paint is worn and it is dull in colour. No liner for the inkwell. There is a foundry mark to the base, but the impression is worn away. Stamped number 1 to base. Recently inherited by the family.
