Ca. 18th - 19th century AD. A group of metalwork comprising a silver Ottoman pen holder of typical form with an attached inkwell, decorated with embossed and incised motifs, featuring two silver stamps above and below, with hinged lids. Included is a Mamluk Revival brass casket with silver inlay, of coffered shape, with a lid inlaid with silver calligraphy surrounded by six calligraphic panels; three sides adorned with geometric and floral designs, and the front panel inlaid in silver with five fantastical winged animals. Also in the group is a small steel hexagonal box, decorated with applied gold floral designs on each of the six sides, equipped with two rotating handles, hinged on one side and latched on the opposite side. Completing the set is a Toledo steel cane or umbrella handle with gold inlay, featuring three lozenges with depictions of fantasy birds amidst foliage, framed by matching panels on either side and three gold bands below.two rotating handles, hinged on one side and latched on the opposite side. A richly decorated silvered bronze portable pen case of triangular shape comprised of two pieces: an actual case with lobed cap and integral inkwell and an external, fitting cover with openings to the upper face and an inverted teardrop finial to the bottom. Selection of Silverware. To include; a Silver Beaker, Pair of Silver Salts, Silver Weighted Inkwell and a Pair of Silver Weighted Candlesticks The Silver Beaker is hallmarked with the Makers marks "WTB", the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the Lion Passant for Sterling Silver and the date letter "H" for 1932. The Beaker is engraved "A token of grateful appreciation from the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, W.J. Wiggins-Davies." There is Initials engraved on the other side with the date 1945 underneath. The Beaker measures approx. 3 1/2 inches in height x 3 1/2 inches across the top. The Silver Salts, Silver Inkwell and pair of Silver Weighted Candlesticks are all hallmarked for Sterling Silver. The Inkwell has damage and dents to it. (A/F). Total Gross Weight of the Silver Beaker and Pair of Silver Salts is approx. 226.4 grams.
