A Victorian silver mounted coromandel desk stand - the silver hallmarked Rupert Favell, London 1886, the rectangular stand with pierced silver three quarter gallery, silver pen rests and an inlaid marquetry fan patera and spandrels, with moulded glass inkwells, on silver bun feet, 23 x 16.3cm; together with a 1920s oak ink stand with a moulded glass inkwell. (2)* Coromandel: In good condition overall. Good even colour and just one tiny veneer loss to the left hand end of the front chamfered edge of the stand. Silver in good condition and marks clear. One inkwell has a small chip to the cover. Both have a few tiny frits to the corners. Oak: In good condition overall.

Slight mis-shaping of rim. Light marks to one end where a dent may have been tapped out. Vertical scratch to side of other end with a scratch in the base in line with this. Hallmarks well struck near the inkwell hole - slightly rubbed.Inkwell - lid sits slightly proud of base. Hallmarks struck inside the lid and on the collar - slightly rubbed. Tiny bruise to one slice panel of the glass.Pair of decanters - both in good condition. Hallmarks on collars slightly rubbed.

Glass inkwell is loose within the body, may be a replacement. Pen and pencil -Both with tarnishing and discolouration. Nib of pen has deteriorated (see images) Interior of box is discoloured and shows wear throughout.
An Edwardian silver combination capstan ink well, Asprey & Co Ltd, Birmingham 1905, the hinged cover opening to reveal pocket watch within the cover, leading to typical plain polished body, 14cm wide, with an Edwardian silver capstan inkwell, Henry Matthews, Chester 1906, of typical form, 12.5cm wide, and further silver capstan ink well (all weighted) (3) Condition report: General tarnishing, residue, surface scratches and scuffs seen throughout all three ink wells, commensurate with age and use. Ink wells are all present. Chester hall marked example - Large area of scratches and dents. Dents also seen particularly to the cover of this example. Pocket watch is untested and a base metal example.Felt to reverse of pocket watch is a later replacement.
