A REGENCY GILTWOOD CONVEX GIRANDOLE MIRROR CIRCA 1815 114cm high, 91cm wideProvenance: Property from Clipsham House, Rutland Condition Report: Old marks, scratches and abrasions, some fading and staining comensurate with age and useSome old repairs, some old chips, cracks and splits. Some small losses. Wear and some loss to gilding. There is dirt to the surface. The piece overall is in 'untouched' condition apart from the candle arms being fitted for electricity at a later date. The wires run through the arms and up through the sconce. Elements of the arms and the sconces may therefore be later. The style and surface of the 'wrythen arms' themselves appear in keeping with the remainder of the mirror. The sconces are likely later but treated well to match visually. The 'candle elements ' are plastic. The electrical and associated fitments could be removed if desired. The mirror plate appears original and bears expected depletion in form of grey spotting throughout (see images) . The rear panel to the mirror appears original. Please refer to all additional images available through the link (sent with the condition report via email ) for visual reference to condition. Condition Report Disclaimer
