Lawrence. 'A single meeting with a stranger in the British Museum was to influence him more than any other factor in his life. Through this chance meeting with Aircraftsman Shaw he discovered the Elgin Marbles and Greek Mythology... It was then [after Lawrence's death in 1935 that] Dan Samuels learnt for the first time that the man who planted this deep-rooted love for Greek Antiquity was none other than Lawrence of Arabia'.
