A large 19th century Japanese Imari charger, decorated with figures, fence and foliate  patterns heightened with gilding. diameter 48 cm (see illustration).The charger has a crack to the bottom left-hand side running from the edge into the dish which is approximately 15 cm in length.  The underside is covered with a fabric pad which is glued into place for wall hanging.  The gilding to the front is a little worn in places but nothing to untoward.
