PETER MAKOLIES(geb.
Make & Model:Ford, Cortina 1600E Date of Reg:CLM318H Colour:Bronze cc:1599 Fuel Type:Petrol Mileage:59168 Transmission:manual Summary:This Ford Cortina 1600E MkII has had long-term ownership of nearly 40 years by a motor engineer, with only two registered keepers recorded on its V5C. For 17 years before that, it was owned by the Engineering Export Promotion Council of India, based in London. The registration date of December 1969 makes it one of final ones produced. This one is in unrestored condition save for a repaint around 25 years ago from its rare colour of Light Orchard into gold; the original shade can be seen in the boot and under the bonnet. It has original unwelded inner wings with the factory-stamped chassis number clearly visible and with factory grease still present. The rear wheel arches also seem to be original. We're told that the engine has been built to fast road spec; the original block is included in the sale but will need rebuilding. A stainless steel exhaust is fitted and the car comes with a few parts to aid a new owner improving it, including a rust-free driver's side rear door. The Cortina has been sparingly used in the last 20 years, but kept in running and driving order. The last few years have seen it largely unused over the last few years. Its odometer shows 59,169 miles. Its last MoT expired in September 2008 after having been tested the year before at an indicated 58,712 miles. However, as an historic vehicle, the Cortina will no longer require annual testing. Paperwork includes the current V5C, a previous one plus an older V5, some old MoTs, tax discs and sundry other paperwork.
