Conceived circa 1840 and cast circa 1950 in a numbered edition of 30 plus 4 Artist's proofs, this is a posthumous cast. This sculpture is comparable to the figure of a dandy depicted in Daumier's series of lithographs entitled Les Comediens de Societe.
