Set of eleven original vintage World War Two posters from the same series. 1.Lady looking at the destroyed buildings with a driver in the foreground, with the caption - You should have seen us in the blitz, though - that was a game! Ninety-mile diversions, sometimes... but we got through. Takes more than a blitz to stop things moving. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 2. Lady observing soldiers loading and shooting ammo with the caption - Ammo's up, sir! They got here. Good show... now we can let 'em have it. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 3. Lady on an image with warships and a man working on something, with the caption - Well, I'll be able to tell them a few things at the factory, when I get back. The stuff gets through alright... Nice work - everybody. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 4. lady looking at the men on a convoy ship with the caption - We're off to join the convoy... We won't be long, now, Jerry! Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 5. Country of issue: UK, designer: Unknown, size (cm): 37.5x30 (same for all posters), year of printing: 1940s; 5. lady in four frames with captions - And now we're away to the docks. I don't know how they can tell what's coming and what's going... They're going in now. We give them bottom storage, to make a nice, strong platform for the rest of the cargo. I say - you've got some six-pounder shells somewhere. Mind you take care of them! Full Steam Ahead. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 6. lady at the filling factory observing the filling of the ammunition shells with the captions - Please, is this the filling factory? It is, Miss. Have you come with the empties? - the cartridge cases? Yes, I want to see one joined up with my shot to make a six-pounder shell. Okay, we assemble the whole thing, here, - shot, tracer, cartridge and primer. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 7. steam trains with captions - On the railways which link the centres of war production in the 20,000 route miles of their vast steel net, over three million loaded wagons are despatched each month. Besides this war-time goods traffic, and with fewer trains, the railways are handling 50% more passenger traffic than before the war. On the high seas the men of the merchant navy, defying the U-boat and bomber, maintain the flow of supplies to the battle fronts of the world. Upwards of 2,000 vessels are always at sea. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 8.tank on a cargo crane and barges in the canal, with the captions - On the canals whose 2,000 miles of inland waterways carry a million tons of cargo every month, there are 6,000 boats and barges, manned by people whose unspectacular service makes a vital contribution to war production. Of their cargoes, about half is fuel. At the docks some of war-time's most strenuous work is done by men who load and unload the sinews of war... the food, munitions and essential supplies which the United Nations need. Britain's 50 ports are equipped to handle everything from a tank to a tommy-gun. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 9. trucks on a snowy road and convoy ships on the water, the captions read - Round our coasts ply the little ships. They make nearly 50,000 voyages in convoy every year... cover as much as 200 miles per day in average voyages of 250 miles... carrying immense tonnages of the vital supplies without which the war machine would stop. On the roads - 180,000 miles of them - are 50,000 buses and hundreds of thousands of goods vehicles. Their drivers face all weathers... endure fatigue and loss of sleep... and take their vehicles through the adverse conditions war can inflict, in order that the factories, the ships, the fighting men shall not wait. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 10. You'll walk when you can - and save transport. You'll travel only when you must - and let the war traffic through. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 11. lady carrying shopping and people queueing at the bus stop, with captions - You'll carry all the shopping you can - and save rubber and petrol. You'll take place in the queue - and help transport to run smoothly. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining. Country of issue: UK, designer: Unknown, size (cm): 37.5x30, year of printing: 1940s
