Set of eleven original vintage World War Two posters from the same series. 1. Sally sees it through and learns how War Transport Passes the Ammunition - featuring an image of two military tracks and a large explosion. Produced for the Ministry of War Transport by the Ministry of Information. The Ministry of War Transport was a British government department created in 1941 by merging the Ministries of Shipping and Transport to oversee transportation during WWII. Lord Leathers was the first Minister, followed by Alfred Barnes after the 1945 election, the department was renamed the Ministry of Transport in April 1946. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 2. soldiers in the battlefield operating a weapon and a soldier on the radio, captions read - Ammo's getting low, sergeant... better 'phone Battery HQ. Been on the way an hour, sir - but they're plastering the road... dive-bombers. Okay - we'll have to go easy till it gets through. But we won't last more than half an hour at this rate... Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 3. I've often wondered where this stuff goes to. Anti-tank guns, Joe says. Let's follow this lot through... - featuring an image of a lady in overalls. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 4. lady in four frames with captions - Help - what's all this? I reckon my stuff's somewhere down there, on it's way to the front. Yes, straight through E-Boat Alley we've come... Your stuff isn't made yet, Sally. These are the raw materials we're carrying on this coaster. Bringing your iron-ore from the big ships to your nearest port. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 5. lady looking at a steam train with the caption - Ah, there they go - off to the filling-factory, to get put into cases. We must keep the railways pretty busy, with the amount of stuff we turn out. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 6. lady looking at a steam train with the caption - Hi, driver - where are you taking my shot to? I don't want it to get lost! We go as far as the marshalling-yards, miss. What happens there? There's a bit of sorting out to do then. You go and have a look. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 7. lady looking at the driver with the caption - Lonely sort of job, yours, isn't it? Well, you get used to it in time... blackout and all. You can get used to anything in time, I always say, blackout, blitzes, snow on the Pennines... as long as there's a nice pull-in every now and then. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 8. lady in four frames with the caption - The lorry'll be along any minute for the cases. And now they're going to be assembled with my shot. We send thousands of these out every day. You'll be the chap to take the cases to the filling factory. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 9. lady observing a meeting with the caption - ...the aerodrome construction traffic is still heavy... can the sand and cement go by coaster and sailing barge? ...That would leave 20,000 tons for the railways... we'll off-load at the stations, and allocate a total of 300 lorries for conveyance by road... It all seems to take a lot of arranging.. Yes, I'm glad I only make the stuff! Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 10. lady observing making and loading of shots with the captions - And you see that they go, eh? I see... Let's see if they've got the cases made, ready to go and meet it... Well, my shot seems to be on its way all right. Hello... can you take 30 tons of cartridge cases... urgent job... by road? Okay... Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining; 11. lady observing a controller at work with the captions - We have to break the train now, and get each wagon on to the right road. They don't all go to the same place, you know. How do you keep track of them? Well, up here in Control we have a list of every wagon on every train, and where they've each got to go. We follow the movement of each load by the wagon numbers. Good condition, creasing, punched holes, minor staining. Country of issue: UK, designer: Unknown, size (cm): 37.5x30 (identical for all posters), year of printing: 1940s.
