An 18th Century Vauxhall salt glazed stoneware mug of large proportions, the white metal rim inscribed "Mr Carter Eastham 1730", the main body decorated with white metal engraved oval medallion engraved "JAC 1783" with central portrait of Queen Anne flanked by two guards with pole axes amongst trees, a stag hunting party in the foreground with plain reeded loop handle (with 19th Century stapled repairs throughout and metal banding to the handle), 14.9 cm diameter at rim by 22.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS As per description several areas of cracking and repair with early stapled repairs particularly around the handle area with metal strengthening of banding in four places to the the handle. Handle connected to the main body with staple, other larger and smaller staples almost throughout. Some signs of wear and tear throughout, otherwise conducive with age and use, particularly to the base. See images for further details,

19th century Ballooning interest. Antique print entitled ''The Nassau Balloon as it ascended from Norwich on Thursday, 24th September, 1840''. W.E. Earl, Norwich. Built in 1836 and piloted by famed balloonist Charles Green, the Royal Vauxhall  or Great Nassau balloon made history, in the same year, flying 480 miles from the Vauxhall Gardens in London to Weilburg in the Duchy of Nassau, and remained in use for several years afterwards as a spectacle and for continued experimentation. A passenger list is included and benefits from hand coloured embellishments. 9.5cm x 29cm.

First registered in January 1985, ‘B789TBU’ has paperwork dating right back to 1991 – which include MOTs that confirm the ultra-low odometer reading of just 36,200 miles. The vendor has owned this car for nearly five years, with the previous keeper owning it from 1992 right through to 2020. Overall, it has just six previous keepers. The bulging paperwork file features numerous invoices of work carried out, including a new ECU. ‘B789TBU’ has all the desirable GSE features, including the sonorous 2,969cc straight-six engine driving the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential, plus electric windows, sunroof, digital instrument cluster and cloth-covered Recaro sport seats. The black interior nicely complements the metallic silver exterior. The Opel Monza was introduced in 1977, along with its Vauxhall Royale UK sister car. A sleek executive fastback, it was a well-engineered model designed to compete with the BMW 6 Series and Mercedes-Benz C123 and C124 coupes. The first versions are known as A1; in 1982, the A2 was introduced (there was now no Vauxhall Royale version), featuring a very successful facelift that made the Monza look much more modern. It was more aerodynamic too, providing a great platform for the ultimate Open Monza, the 1983 GSE. This was a longer, wider variant introduced in 1951 which shared its body with the Vauxhall Wyvern. ’ULX512’ is a characterful example of Vauxhall’s luxury six-cylinder saloon designed to compete with the Ford Zephyr and the Austin Westminster. ’ULX512’ is offered from a period of stable, enthusiast ownership dating back to 2009. Today the E-series Velox is a rare car indeed with only around 20 thought to still exist in the UK. Last MOT’d in 2008 at 58,500 miles it seems clear that ’ULX512’ has had sparing recent use with just 500 miles or so added since then. Today ’ULX512’ offers MOT exempt and zero rated road tax status based on its Historic Vehicle classification and comes with a number of original workshop manuals.’ULX512’s’ looks reflect Vauxhall’s 1950’s penchant for offering cars with blatantly American inspired styling. This gives the Velox real road presence and charm by the bucket load, being so fundamentally different from the cookie cutter models of today. ’ULX512’ has benefitted from a more contemporary respray in Dove Grey as well as being fitted with a complement of “new old stock” chromed brightwork. This combination, together with the partial spats at the rear, the full width “grinning” grill and the ostentatious bonnet ornament make ’ULX512’ s surefire head turner. The vendor considers the paint and bodywork as “good.” The interior is equally as charming with twin full width bench seats providing the accommodation. These are finished in brown, box pleated vinyl with the whole interior also rated as “good.”Given ’ULX512’s’ luxury saloon status a 2,262cc inline six cylinder OHV engine features. Configured more for sedate and refined cruising than outright speed this unit was originally rated at around 65bhp. This originally gave the Velox a perfectly respectable, for the time, 80 mph top speed. A three speed manual gearbox is fitted. During the current ownership a new wiring harness has been fitted.
