(Signed) The Beatles and Mersey Beat Bands Autograph Book. Obtained by the vendor's sister, Geraldine, on the 7th March 1963, when she attended the very first Mersey Beat Showcase, held at the Elizabethan Ballroom, Co-op House, Nottingham. Geraldine missed the chance to get John Lennon's signature, as he was busy loading guitars into a coach; his signature is therefore absent. The showcase was organised by Brian Epstein and hosted by the Cavern Club's compére Bob Wooler, This was the first time that The Beatles had played in Nottingham, they headlined the show, the other performers that night were Gerry and The Pacemakers, The Big Three, and Billy J Kramer and The Dakotas. Signatures for members from all bands that performed at this show are present and kept in this autograph book, along with other autographs that Geraldine obtained at shows that she attended, most notably those of Freddie and The Dreamers.
