C. Brand, complete with blue and yellow striped girdle with brass olivets. VGC Note:Major the Hon Charles Brand was a son of Viscount Hampden (one time speaker of the House of Commons). He spent approx 15 months in the Hampshire Carabiniers prior to becoming 2nd Lieut in the Sussex Yeomanry when the unit was raised in August 1901, 2 months later being promoted to Major. He commanded B Squadron of the Sussex Yeomanry which covered the Brighton, Lewes and Burgess Hill troops. He died aged 57 in 1912 at his residence near Lewes from Pneumonia. £300-400
5 inch gauge Santa Fe 997 EMD SD60 style Diesel Locomotive in Good condition From the Rob Denton collection (Reading) Dual Battery operated model of a North American style locomotive, finished in Orange and Silver livery with Yellow lining with Number 997 and Santa Fe branding. 1.4m in length. Two large motors fitted to each bogie. Steel chassis with metal body shell. Two 12v batteries, Sound unit, Speaker, Dual Air-horn and lights. Very Good paintwork, few scratches where top cover secures to body. Label within suggests built circa 1995 to the designs of Frederick.F.Few a notable British model engineer, known for his contributions to the field of small-scale engineering and model-making. Subsequent information suggests the loco was also built by 'Freddie Few' as a back-up loco for St.Albans Model Engineering group. Footnote: Rob Denton was a member of the Reading Society of Model Engineers, regularly showing his large scale locomotives across the country to the delight of young and old. No. 230399, with 104 selections within horizontal record carousel, below vertical turntable behind shaped front and selection button panel, twin speaker grilles in chrome, cream finished body - 54in. (137cm) high, 32in. (81cm) wide, 27in. (68cm) deepOne of the most recognisable and best loved models from the golden age of jukeboxes, made at a time when the 45 single recorded format was taking the world by storm. As with most Wurlitzer models from this period, the records, turntable and selection workings are all visible. The advanced valve amplifier design for treble/bass separation in this model and others by Wurlitzer still gives them the edge - in addition to the stunning cabinet design features.Fully restored and has a sticker from 'Jukeboxes Unlimited!' Langton Leicestershire'; no records included in the lot; has been used in the UK by the vendor; We have tested the jukebox and have been able to get it to play on insertion of a coin but not on every occssion, it also seems there is a issue with playing a disc in A8. Otherwise in Excellent restored condition, largely with original wireing and parts.
