Signed and titled to the reverse. .Coleman is not a formally trained artist, but instead started painting to relieve stress from a debilitating spinal injury. His inimitable style is the result of hours of work involving the painstaking layering of materials such as newsprint, stamps and vintage comic books in order to achieve the final result. His early experimental pieces involved images of Marilyn Monroe, The Krays and Jimi Hendrix.
