An Apostle candelabra. South German, circa 1500. Tin plated iron with small remnants of coloured painting. Three level construction with large bowl to catch wax. Surrounded by twelve candle sticks with candle holders on top. In the middle there is an especially strong support and socket for a central candle, a hexagonal central piece with embossed leaf rosettes and a castle-shaped finial with four small Gothic towers.
