See Kelley, M., A study of Late Hellenistic and early Roman glass in Jerusalem from excavated sites: understanding local production and the economic status of the population from the time of the Hasmoneans to Hadrian, Jerusalem, 2012, pl.5, no.16, for similar. 130 grams, 87 mm (3 3/8 in.). A similar vessel was found in the cave 19-4 of Zikhron Yosef at Jerusalem. The shape suggests its use as candlestick or short jar. Small globular bottles, piriform bottles, or small bottles with long, narrow necks (today called candlestick bottles) held perfumes or other precious oils and replicated the shapes found in pottery, alabaster, and stone.Ex London, UK, collection, 1980-1990s.

Three vintage glass centrepieces. The lot to include a Timo Sarpameva Festivo frosted ice candlestick for Iittala, Finland; marked "T S" to the base, with a "Made in Finland" sticker to the top. Along with a vintage pink and white cased glass bowl on tripod pedestal. The pink bowl supported by three white and clear legs raised on a circular pedestal, and a believed Glasform John Ditchfield hand made glass apple paperweight. The hollow apple decorated with iridescent aquamarine blue water drop motifs. Largest measures approx. 19cm tall x 15cm diameter.
