Am Rücken drei Schlangen, von denen zwei bis über die Schultern gelegt sind; um die Augen punktförmige Eindrücke; prominent gestalteter Nabel. Ethnographica: Pair of Trobriand Islands tribal carved hardwood 'Massim' sword clubs, each with typical flattened blade carved with double S-scroll and double C-scroll motifs, turned grip and spade pommel, 70cm and 77cm long respectively, (2)Condition report: Smaller club with corner loss to broad bladed end, plus approximately 9cm of one edge of blade beside this corner loss. Larger club with shorter, shallower blade edge loss , plus one side of hilt missing. Ingrained dirt and good patina commensurate with genuine age.
