Lot 623
A 1920s black crêpe and lace dress, a 1920s black silk beaded jacket, a 1920s olive green silk and lace dress with matching lace jacket, a silk and embroidered dressing gown, a cream fringed shawl with black floral embroidery and a pale yellow fringed shawl with pastel floral embroidery (all af).Condition Report: - The beaded jacket appears to be in ok condition, with some beading missing and some loose beading. All other items are in poor condition and extremely fragile, with rips, tears and pieces missing, as well as oxidising/perishing to the lace. They are also susceptible to further tearing. The shawls have large tears to the edges where the fringing is attached to the edges of the shawl. The dressing gown has many tears and pieces cut out from the fabric, and the sleeve is detached. There is also some white paint marking. The black lace dress has many holes, rusted buttons, perishing to the lace, etc. The olive green silk dress is extremely fragile/friable, with extensive deterioration to the lace and silk lining. The neckline and straps of the dress are particularly damaged, and the matching lace jacket is in similar condition, with a large tear running down from the neckline at the back and several holes. Most items have some staining. Overall, these pieces would be difficult to repair/restore.
