A novelty silver grenade table cigar lighter, by The Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Co., London 1916, realistically modelled as a No.5 Mills grenade, detachable ring, height 9.3cm.William Mills was asked by the War Department to improve the mechanism and means of manufacture of the hand grenade. He redesigned the grenade and created the distinctive pineapple appearance which increased the grip for the thrower and the case fragmentation on detonation. By 1916, the Mills No.5 hand grenade was in wide-scale production and during the course of World War I some 75 million grenades were manufactured. Mills was knighted for his services in 1922.

A Victorian silver cigar lighter in the form of an oil lamp, one silver with ornate engraved decoration and eagle head handle, hallmarked London 1846 by James Charles Edington, 13cm long, together with a similar Elizabeth II Scottish silver cigar lighter of the same form, ornate foliate decoration, hallmarked Edinburgh 1958 by 'R W', 13.5cm long. A Dunhill wooden cigar cabinet/humidor, 14 cm x 25 cm x 22 cm, together with three Bolivar Habana cigars in aluminum tubes, two Don Ramos Honduras cigars and three H. Upmann 'Naturals' cigars, also tubed, a further Upmann cigar in card box, a Hermes ceramic desk ashtray, 18.5 cm wide, and a 19th century Doulton Lambeth stoneware match pot, with applied floral decoration and silver collar. The finish of the box top is intact but has a finely crazed surface, and may need reviving. The box is in good structural order, complete with a working key, the surface finish has some minor blemishes. The ashtray and table vester are in good order.
