Silver weight 36 grams.
A large George V silver cigar box. Elkington & Co.,Birmingham, 1929. Of rectangular form, the box raised on four stepped, circular feet and decorated with an applied band of oak leaves and acorns to sides, the hinged lid opening to wood-lined interior and designed with a raised, rectangular cartouche to centre, applied with monogram to front, 17.5 x 27.5 x 13cm Condition Report: Gross weight approx. 64.3ozt. Probably lead lined. The hallmarks are clear though the upper portion of the marker’s mark is ever so slightly rubbed. The decoration is in good condition. A few picks and blemishes to the lid. Some minor bruising and deeper nicks to one corner visible under magnification. Hinge in good working order. Light surface scratches throughout.
