Talavera or Toledo, 16th century.Glazed ceramic.Measurements: 25 x 14 cm.This wine jug, decorated on its outer surface with plant and floral elements in manganese blue on a white background, is a good example of the blue and white ceramics of Talavera or Toledo. The great boom in the manufacture of Talavera ware took place between the 16th century and the mid-18th century, when French tastes were introduced into Spain, and the clientele began to prefer pieces from Alcora. However, Talavera experienced a new Golden Age at the end of the 19th century, with the historicism.
