BELLOC (HILAIRE) Group of notebooks, letters and a signed photograph from the collection of Belloc's friend Emma Pescatore (1875-1930), comprising: Ten autograph poems, illustrated with pen and ink drawings, inscribed in a notebook with autograph signature and inscription in ink on first leaf ('Hilaire Belloc/ Twenty four years after!/ Oct. 21 1910'), including More Music, Cuckoo!, Most Holy Night, Fille-La-Haine, The Mirror, Month of December, To Oscar Wilde, and others, on 11 leaves, the remaining 28 blank, dust-staining and marks, red calf, worn, 8vo (138 x 82mm.), presented to Emma Pescatore 21 October 1910; cabinet photograph of Belloc signed by the sitter 'Hilaire Belloc/ 1895' and 'Hilaire Belloc' in purple ink by Pescatore on reverse, 12mo (103 x 65mm.); notebook inscribed by Belloc ('Emma Pexatore/ Hilaire Belloc/ Jan: 25: 1923') on reverse of front endpaper, containing Belloc's Epigrams, written out by Pescatore in purple ink, 32 leaves, plus 16 blank, woodblock endpapers, decorative cloth with purple, green, black and white geometric design, 8vo (124 x 98mm.), 25 June 1923; with associated material (collection) Footnotes: 'TO OSCAR WILDE - THERE IS NO TRUTH BUT BEAUTY! Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
