Ruby-in-Zoisite Carving of Seahorses by Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio An underwater scene, carved from a single specimen of ruby-in-zoisite from Tanzania, depicting a seahorse family, with gold vermeil sea fan, on a carved rock crystal quartz base. Measuring 8 x 6 x 8 in Footnotes: Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio Following a second-generation family tradition in the fabrication of objects d'art, Luis' studio specializes in the carving of ruby. The second hardest stone after diamond, few artists have managed to successfully work this mineral since it requires a very advanced technique for carving and polishing.
