Large Mookite Carving of a Koi by Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio Carved from a single specimen of Australia jasper known as mookite, this sculpture depicts a large, swimming Koi fish. Raise on an obsidian base. Measuring 12 1/2 x 10 x 6 in Footnotes: Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio Following a second-generation family tradition in the fabrication of objects d'art, Luis' studio specializes in the carving of ruby. The second hardest stone after diamond, few artists have managed to successfully work this mineral since it requires a very advanced technique for carving and polishing.
