Large Snowy Owl on Branch by Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio The vast proportions of this impressive carving are sure to find appeal with both lapidary collectors and bird lovers: this rock crystal quartz carving depicts a snow owl with accents of gold vermeil to the feathers and gold vermeil feet, with agate cabochon eyes. Removable from the tree branch which is fabricated of silvered bronze, on a circular base of black granite. Measuring 26 x 17 x 14 in Footnotes: Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio Following a second-generation family tradition in the fabrication of objets d'art, Luis' studio specializes in the carving of ruby. The second hardest stone after diamond, few artists have managed to successfully work this mineral since it requires a very advanced technique for carving and polishing.
