Tiger's Eye Carving of a Horse by Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio Carved from a single large specimen of South African tiger's eye, the rich coloration and banding distinguishing the musculature of the strolling horse above the rocky ground. Measuring 11 x 4 x 8 1/2 in Footnotes: Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio Following a second-generation family tradition in the fabrication of objects d'art, Luis' studio specializes in the carving of ruby. The second hardest stone after diamond, few artists have managed to successfully work this mineral since it requires a very advanced technique for carving and polishing. His works are displayed in museums in the United States and Europe and are enjoyed by private collectors around the world. Lot to be sold without reserve.
