Victorian porcelain dessert service, possibly Brown Westhead Moore & Co., with painted pink flowers and green leaves on a white ground, turquoise blue band to the border outlined in gilt, painted pattern number 'B3085' and black printed diamond mark, dated 1868 and 1870, comprising two tall comports 13cm high, four low comports 8cm high, and 12 plates 23cm in diameter. A Brown Westhead Moore & Co majolica fruits vase or jar, lacking cover, circa 1875-80, ovoid form with small ring handles, the overall turquoise ground with relief green foliage and damsons, impressed 'MOORE AND CO' and '1243' to base, 31.5cm highCondition:Section missing to end of green stalk and the stem on one green leaf. Smaller losses to the side of the fruit, including glaze chips to the brown branches, a larger chip to one leaf and small chip to edge of one brown fruit. Hairline crack visible to the underside of the base.
Four assorted late 19th Century 8 inch dust pressed and plastic clay tiles, to include a Brown Westhead Moore & Co with banded blue and black transfer printed decoration over white, a W. T Copeland hand painted tiled with geometric design in green and pink glaze over white ground, another Copland example hand painted with stylised floral and repeat border decoration in orange, blue and purple colour glaze and a unknown maker's tile with floral decoration, possibly continental. A 19th Century Brown Westhead Moore & Co 8 inch dust pressed tile, transfer printed and painted with a scene of a classically dressed maiden kneeling before a cleric to a heavily ornamented interior setting below a banner reading 'Il faut souffrir ce oui est inevitable', relief moulded marks.

DELPECH FOR ART UNION OF LONDON, AN ENGLISH PARIAN BUST OF APOLLO THIRD QUARTER 19TH CENTURY Typically modelled on a socle base inscribed ART UNION OF LONDON 1861 PUBLISHED FEBRUARY 1 1861 and verso the bust C. DELPECH, impressed BBW & M for Bates, Brown-Westhead & Moore 36cm high Provenance: Private Collection, Fawley Manor, Berkshire Cf. A similar Art Union model of this bust sold in these rooms 14th February 2024, £320 hammer The V&A hold an example (Accession no: CIRC.178-1964) which they note is a reduction of the marble 'Apollo Belvedere' by C. Delpech, held in the British Museum. These Parian busts were produced by Copeland and commissioned by the Art Union of London, an organisation established in 1836 for the encouragement of British artists and the improvement of public taste in matters of the arts. Condition Report: Would benefit from a clean to remove general dirt and frass. No serious damage, chips or losses noted. No restoration or replacement parts noted. The figure's natural right hand has lost two fingers. There is a lightly stained hairline crack running through the underside of the base and vertically down from the edge of the base, close to the tambourine. Copeland figure - 'Lurline' damage and loss to figure's natural right foot. Damage and loss to lyre. Royal Dux figure - some light scattered wear to painted detail and gilding but otherwise appears to be in good condition with no obvious damage/loss/restoration

An English porcelain rectangular plaque of the Castle of Chillon, Chillon Castle on Lake Geneva by Joseph Birbeck (Junior), late 19th/early 20th century, painted by Joseph Birbeck, artist signed 'J. Birbeck', titled to the reverse, framed, 20.5cm wide x 15cm highNotes: Joseph Birbeck Junior was born in Coalport, Shropshire to a family of talented porcelain artists and decorators. He trained at the Coalport factory, where he was at one time foreman of a painting shop and his notable work includes landscape painting after Turner. He joined Copeland in 1881 before working at Brown Westhead & Moore and latterly Royal Doulton from 1900 - 1926.Condition:Unexamined out of frame but no visible damages or repairs.
