Dupon, Josuë (Belgian, 1864-1935); b. Ichtegem, and Établissements Jules Fonson (Brussels, fl. 1848-1973), specifically Jean Fonson (1871-1937); b. Brussels BELGIUM, Exposition Internationale Coloniale, Maritime et d’Art Flamande, Antwerp [International Colonial, Maritime and Flemish Art Exhibition], 1930, an octagonal bronze medal by J. Dupon for Fonson, seated figure of Neptune watching African boy playing a trumpet-horn, aeroplane above and ship in background, rev. naked female riding side-saddle on a horse, port behind, edge impressed j. fonson, 80mm, 160.81g (BM Acq. 1978-82, p.15, 64; cf. DNW 130, 1732). Extremely fine, attractively patinated £30-£40 --- Provenance: Emporium Hamburg Auktion 26 (Hamburg), 30 November 1992, lot 1446; Münz Zentrum Rheinland Auktion 114 (Solingen), 8 January 2003, lot 6334.
