Although the lot description describes that tazza as 'Swansea', there are currently no known definitive examples by Swansea of this shape. A number of factors lead to a probable Nantgarw attribution - such as the high quality, finely translucent quality of the porcelain and the thickly moulded foot which is a common feature. This particular shape is also only rarely found manufactured by English porcelain factories. There is a Y-shaped hairline crack visible to the underside of the bowl and several areas of small chips/losses to the flower petals and tips of leaves.
