It appears to be in generally good order with no evidence of any significant damage, repairs or restoration. There is a crack on the left hand side of the top above the chin rest running for +/- 4.5 cm to the sound hole. There are numerous other small dings and dents and rubbing to the corners of the ribs. There is no evidence of any woodworm. There are some losses to the original polished finish on the back but the overall condition is generally good

Signed and inscribed 6.5 x 9 photograph, `En tres amical souvenir, votre reconnaissant Jacques Thibaud´, being the front page of a paper folded programme, four pages, issued for a Thibaud´s performance in Geneva. The image depicting the violinist in a head and shoulders pose, with his violin in his hand.
