William (Bill) Harries Clement OBE MC TD (1915-2007) - A large collection of press and personal photographs, ephemera, etc including documents relating to his OBE, documents relating to his appointment as Secretary to the Welsh Rugby Union, correspondence and telegrams with regards to his first cap, together with a Pewter tankard for The Welsh Rugby Union 1881-1981, a Spode pottery mug for the Rugby Football Union Centenary 1871-1971, an Islwyn hand cut crystal tankard for Welsh Classicals Bill Clement, an electroplated waiter awarded to W H Clement OBE MC TD JP, Happy Retirement WRSU (SG) 1981 etc CONDITION REPORT: Provence - from the family of William (Bill) Harries Clement OBE MC TD (1915-2007) was a Welsh international wing who played club rugby for Llanelli and was capped six times for Wales. and after his appearance for the British Isles was seen as the best defensive wing of the decade, In his later career he became Secretary of the Welsh Rugby Union. Rugby playing career Clement was selected to the Wales team while playing for Llanelli, the team he captained during the 1938/39 season. On 22 October 1935 he was part of the Llanelli team that faced the touring New Zealand national team. In 1937 Clement was selected to represent the Welsh team as part of the 1937 Home Nations Championship. In 1938 Clement was chosen to represent the British Isles in their 1938 tour of South Africa. This would be his last rugby campaign as a knee injury sustained in 1938 ended his playing career
