Comprising a boxed Royal Worcester mug, a Shelley loving mug commemorating Edward VIII and a Doulton mug designed by Milner Gray to commemorate the Coronation of Elizabeth II, Max. H14cm Condition Report: Shelley Edward VIII loving cup - no chips, cracks or restoration, the gilding around the rim is rubbed. There are spots of a dirty residue on the body.
A large 19th century study of the Portrait of Beatrice Cenci by Guido Reni (1600), also attributed to Elisabetta Sirani and Ginerva Cantofoli and held at the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica in Rome. Presented in a gold painted wooden frame. The image depicts a woman, Beatrice Cenci, looking over her shoulder at the viewer and dressed in the robes of either a vestal virgin or a Roman Sibyl. The original painting, as well as the story of Beatrice Cenci, was particularly popular in the 19th century, and inspired a variety of interpretations in different media, including a verse drama by Percy Bysshe Shelley and photographic portraits by Julia Margaret Cameron. 30" x 22" dimensions approx.
