Board of Ordnance and the HONble East India Com - 28 Bartholomew St., Chapel Birmingham". "Presented by Lieut. Col. Viscount Milton and the officers of the 1st W.Y.Y. Cavalry to Mr Joseph Blakemore, being the best swordsman in Captn. the Honble. E. Monckton's (OR.D) Troop." William Thomas Spencer Wentworth-FitzWilliam, 6th Earl FitzWilliam, KG (12 October 1815 – 20 February 1902), was a British peer, nobleman, and Liberal Party politician. He held the command of the 1st West Yorkshire Yeomanry Cavalry for 40 years, from 1846–1886, and was a Yeomanry Aide-de-camp to Queen Victoria's Viceroy in India, 1884–1894. In 1857, Lord FitzWilliam was appointed Lord Lieutenant of the West Riding of Yorkshire and stayed as such until 1892. He was appointed a Knight of the Garter in 1862, and was the senior knight at the time of his death. The katana comprises a bamboo blade finished to look like metal; a rubber guard painted to look like gold; and a resin hilt wrapped in tough cotton to resemble Tsuka-ito (Japanese cotton). The nunchaku is made of rubber with a paint finish to make its pair of shafts look like wood and the rivets like metal. Metal hooks are attached to the end of each rivet - these were used to connect the sticks by a chain, which is not present. The blade exhibits a minor scuff on one side, while the guard is slightly bent. The bow is made of rubber painted to look like red wood and metal. The string is predominantly rubber, with its ends wrapped in thin rope that allows it to be strung at either end of the bow.
