"I'm playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order"   The Morecambe Challen baby grand piano and matching stool, British Patent number 419777/419778 Originally this piano which was a BBC rehearsal piece was sold to Eric's agent Frank Pope and when Frank was moving house he sold the piano to Joan and Eric circa 1960.  First in their home on Oakwood Road Harpenden it moved with them to Brachefield in 1967 and placed in the Drawing Room affectionately known as "The Best or Dad's Room".  Gail fondly remembers her father playing particularly Jazz on this piano and of course practising for the iconic Grieg's Piano Concerto sketch with Andre Previn from Morecambe & Wise's 1971 Christmas show. This piano was a beloved member of the Bartholomew / Morecambe household.
