A Mahogany-Inlaid and Parquetry-Decorated Square Piano, by J Watlin, 5 Leicester Place, London, circa 1820/30, the hinged lid enclosing a satinwood fret carved interior above an ivory keyboard with a concave sliding drawer below flanked by two smaller drawers, on ring turned tapering legs with castors 165cm by 59cm by 81cmJohn Watlin (1764-1833), music seller and instrument manufacturer, registered in 1796 at 34 North Bridge Street, Edinburgh and changed address to 5 Gloucester Place, Leicester Square from 1806-1818With Non-Transferable Standard Ivory Exemption Declaration Number T1K4X46X The case is in reasonable condition, with the exception of some general scuffs and scratches consistent with age. The ivory keyboard is very yellow and stained. Various keys are stuck and need attention. The strings appear to be intact, however, the soundboard is split.
