Adhemar Canavasi, Fausto Batignani and Juan Arremon were all members of the gold medal winning football team at the Amsterdam Olympics in 1928.
A silver and gold inlay card case presented to Pedro Petrone the Uruguayan gold medal winning footballer from the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924, the hinged silver case inlaid with gold bands, the gilt interior inscribed Viiia Olympiada, Los Uruguayos En Paris A Los Campeones Mundials De Foot-ball, Pedro Petrone, Paris 1924, 9 by 7.5 cm., 3 1/2 by 3 in. Pedro Petrone was one of the most famous Uruguayan players of the period, and indeed completed a magnificent hat-trick of gold medals in the 1928 Olympics and the inaugural World Cup of 1930. He was known as 'Perucho' or 'El Artillero' [The Gunner] on account of his exceptional goalscoring record. He started his playing career at Charley before moving to the top club side Nacional. He was then bought by the Italian team Fiorentina, where he ended his career.

Cup final issued to their player Harold Hardman, bearing ownership signature from Hardman; sold together with an 'in memorium' postcard titled IN TEARFUL MEMORY OF NEWCASTLE UNITED WHOSE HOPES OF WINNING THE FINAL TIE AT CRYSTAL PALACE WERE SHATTERED ON APRIL 21ST 1906'; and an original pen & ink and watercolour illustration of the Everton team who played in the 1907 F.A. Cup final (3) After his playing career Harold Hardman-who retained amateur status-went on to become a senior administrator in the game, and Chairman of Manchester United. He had also been a member of the gold-medal winning Great Britain football team at the 1908 Olympics.

Kojima [both 400 metres freestyle], the three members of the Japanese women's diving team signed to verso of this album leaf, R. Osawa, M. Osawa, and F. Kono, two other autographs of unidentified athletes, S. Matsumura and N. Matsuzawa, plus one further album leaf with autographs of the managers (?), Mrs H. Shirayama and R. Akima, a total of 13 names on three sheets, all but Akima's name signed in English and Japanese, each album leaf approx. 11 x 13 cm. Hideko Maehata was the only women's medal winner from the Japanese delegation at the Berlin Olympics in 1936. She had won the silver medal for the same event in 1932 Olympics. (3)
