A mid-nineteenth century French three piece variegated marble garniture, comprising of a mantel clock, surmounted by a female figure with a large basket of fruit, entitled 'Endangeuse' by L & F Moreau (1832-1927), with a painted enamel dial featuring Arabic Numerals and stamped 'E Bernard. Mayenne', and a Fritz Marti eight day movement, stamped '473', striking on bell, H-68cm, together with two lidded urns, H-45cm.Makers: The 'L' stands for Louis Auguste (1855-1919), known for bronzes. The 'F' stands for Hippolyte Francois (1832-1927), a painter and sculptor.Condition: It is not ticking at the time of cataloguing. There is a significant crack to the glass protecting the dial.

A 20th Century French 18ct Gold Mounted and Lapis Lazuli Desk or Mantel Timepiece by Cartier, the 1.25ins diameter dial with engine turned ornament and black Roman numerals, contained in square case with chamfered corners and breakfront plinth with turned and reeded feet, 3ins high and red leather case for sameThe clock presents in excellent overall condition showing wear commensurate with age and light usage. There is no undue damage or visible sign of previous repair other than visible natural stress marks in the lapis lazuli stone itself. The 18ct gold components are the top frieze, the bottom plinth and possibly the feet but the feet are not marked. The dial present in excellent condition being engine turned, crisp and bright with clear Roman baton numerals. Likewise the glass is unmarked and free from any scratches. The clock attempts to wind but does not engage properly but does set, the mechanism therefore must be described as non-functional. The case is original and bears nice patination of age, some discolouration but again this is due to age. Overall an honest example. Prospective bidders are strongly advised to study all images closely prior to bidding.
A 19th Century French White Marble and Gilt Brass Mounted Lyre Pattern Mantel Clock, by A. Mougin, No. 127426, the 4ins diameter white enamel dial with Arabic numerals and floral swags, to the eight day movement striking on a bell, contained in a gilt brass sunburst pattern casing mounted to centre of a lyre, with bold leaf, bead, floral swag and mask mounts, the moulded oval base with floral swags, on four turned feet, 19ins high The clock presents in good overall condition being quite clean. The gilding appears reasonably but potentially should not be considered the original gilding. All the accoutrements and swags appear to be correct and in place, no obvious sign of previous damage or repair to any of them, likewise the marble appears to free from any chips or obvious sign of repair. The glass is in good condition, free from any chips or scratches, likewise the enamel to the dial presents well with no obvious signs of any cracks, hairline or otherwise. The paste stones to the chapter ring are all present and appear to be securely set. To the rear of the clock there is some verdigris present on some of the brightwork. The key is present. The rear door functions correctly. The hinge is a little loose but is in fine working condition. The glass appears to be original. The mechanism appears to be complete and the clock winds, runs and sets but should be regarded as untested and we cannot warrant the originality of all components.

The dial is in excellent condition with no chips or scratches or fading. The movement is present but should be regarded as untested. The clock does set. The box has a certain patination of age and is worn in several places but this is the correct box for the item. Prospective bidders are strongly advised to study all images carefully prior to bidding.
